I was in the Ford Transit Southampton Assembly plant and witnessed the last ever Transit van going down the production line there. There was deliberate gap between the penultimate Transit & the very last one on the line. As the last one moved down the line & passed various stations, teams were removing the parts, racks & equipment at the side of the line. It was very emotional.
The factory is such a sad sight. Arrival appeared to offer something ahead of the curve with its van prototypes, such a shame that the plans couldn’t be delivered.
How is it that these initiatives are still going bust. It was looking so great. Lack of silicone vally fees? And getting the good old GBP? It had so much going.
Arrival tried to redesign factories themselves as well as design a van and a bus and taxi. That spread them too thin. Too much hype and not enough concentrating on getting at least one thing built.
So another EV start up crashing and burning? Another one not focusing on developing the actual product that they proposed to do in the first place and that was their reason of being and just starting project, after project to get more fundings? Where the Nikola, did I heard that Fisker story?

this looks likes tony Aquilla is the CEO there ..
Such a shame, if only they had focused on the Van they were amazing.
Did Canoo acquire them?

They lost their focus. They needed to perfect one vehicle & get it to market, then develop others on the back of the sales.
@@hughmarcus1 Yeah, that sounds correct. So how does that happen? Lack of patience?
What an opportunity to obtain a readymade van to assemble a camper from choice of battery from CATL LFP , with a small workshop conversion, maybe
