I wouldn't mind a continuation of the next five years and/or a redoing of the Crusade story line. I also would love to see a story line of the "last" (1000 years ago) Shadow War.
I was thinking this too! The Road Home was really good. But there are so many unresolved plot lines that could have been picked for the story but chose a very small piece of story around the theft of B4. Crusade would be great to get more filled in from that 5 year arc. Including the Psi Wars. How did Garibaldi get his revenge on Bester? Was the Holy Grail the answer to Earth's plague?? So many untapped stories.
At this point I'd say the best bet for an Animated TV Show would be: 1) Finish Crusade. 2) Flesh out the Earth Alliance Civil War (we did lose a lot of episodes when S4 and S5 were consolidated). 3) The Psi-war. Any excuse to get a healthy dose of Bester. And hey, just because he half-said Talia was dead he could've been lying and maybe Andrea Thompson could be brought back in.
i really liked the road home. the only thing i missed was that certain characters had almost no screentime. but i guess they knew they would make more than one movie so they focused on sheridan for movie 1. i would watch a b5 remake but i am perfectly happy with the animated movies. i wish they would also release more books in the b5 universe. i am a big reader so i would love that too :)
I am 110% in support of a new, reimagined Babylon 5 series. The original is always going to be there. But I would love to see how JMS would do it now. It wouldn't be the same story, just a similar one with the same themes. That could be great. I hope it still happens.
How about rebooting the Crusade arc. Or how about something on a White Star or Earth Frigate during the Earth Wars, or the Shadow Wars. Could even do a series set during the Earth Membar war. Same universe, close ties, but not a remake of a series that should otherwise be left unsullied. Could even do one set during one of the original Shadow Wars on Babylon 4, which was taken back in time by Sinclair; who was Valan
More animated shows would be great. The Road Home was a beauty. What ever they do, I'll be watching it. I disagree that they cant do something set elsewhere in the universe. I would love to see the Dilgar war, maybe more of the Centauri conquests. Finish the story of the Excalibur? Go a hundred years into the future and do a TNG kinda thing with a new alliance? The OG shadow war with the Minbari and B4? Lots of options that dont require B5.
For me if I were to rate the quality of the Sci Fi story and production together as though it were heights above the lowest depts of the crust to the highest mountain, where the majority of all true hard sci-fi' stories are barely above sea level and fantasy sci-fi like Star Wars is below sea level. and all other dramas are well below water; but, B5 is as high ast the Matterhorn. But for the old series there are a lot of people that have never seen B5 and are likely to be turned off by the first few episodes due some special effects issues, some production issues, actors not being comfortable in their roles yet, etc. Yes, it could be retold better. Besides fixing the issues in the early episodes, the rushed series endings due to risks of being cancelled could be smoothed out over a few episodes so the grand story arc is far less shaky and less likely to lose viewers. Special effects can be brought up to current standard with better quality integration of practical and CG effects, etc. The same stories and story arcs with some minimal adjustment to make the production and story flow better in those areas can raise it even higher than it is, to near Everest heights. So high that it likely would never be beaten until everyone alive today is long gone. However, there is a risk. The height of the original B5 is so high that any attempt could fail. JMS is The One. The only one that can do it. In my mind I see Sebastion telling JMS "you are the right person, in the right place at the right time". To a new generation unfamiliar with how good Sci Fi can get with a retelling of B5: "Reflection, surprise, terror. For the future."
A new series with Straczynski re-imagining both the story line and the characters could be fantastic. Telling the exact same story would be a mistake. I would expect that the relationship between the older races would be a bit more subtle and less stereotypical. Also, that the cause of the conflict would be more sophisticated. The methods used by the Shadow's and the Vorlons were incoherent with their supposed goals. I would also like to see what Sinclair's original story line was going to be. One foretelling thing from the original series is the rise of xenophobia and ridiculous propaganda along with the worship of authoritarian idols in the US. It would be interesting to see Straczynski's take on the similarities between now and the future Earth Government descent into fascism. A retelling, even a bad one will never damage the original series. All the bad new Trek has not damaged any of the series that came before it, at all. I just assume that new Trek came from the idiot parallel universe.
The Shadow and Vorlon methods and goals, once revealed, made perfect sense to me. I would watch a remake with a fixed first few episodes for story and character development with actors that are more comfortable in their roles and rushed story arcs at season 3 and 4 finales due to cancellation risks. The original series in its original run lost a lot of viewers at exactly those points, because of those issues. A new retelling with these areas fixed and with updated modern practical and GC effects would capture and keep a larger audience. And keep all existing fans as long as important parts of the original story weren't cut out entirely.
It's only created fierce division in the fandom, there are fans that have actually left Star Trek and Star wars, here's an idea ,make a good story in the same universe where EVERYBODY likes it. Picard season 3 comes to mind.
@@unitruth Yes, there is division. No you can't please everyone even when you when you compromise. Picard (every season) is tainted by the legacy of Kurtzman and Abrams. For me, anything Kurtzman related is no bueno. He could be the savior of the world and be giving away a new car of their choice to every viewer and it would still be no. The old adage "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" applies. I'm out.
The ONLY way I would be onboard with a reboot would be for a guaranteed number of seasons. There are a number of known flaws with the original, but the most glaring is that things fell apart in the back half because the series struggled for ratings, so things were handled in less than optimal ways (and that’s why seasons 4 and 5 feel so much different than the first three). If the entire concept isn’t laid out and greenlit before going into it, then there’s no way it will work.
What hobbled the back half wasn't ratings, but the studio execs pulling pointless power games and booting the slated to be pivotal, central character, out of clueless spite.
I was an original fan of the B5 series from the first season, and once I got into the groove of the overarching story absolutely loved it. I like 'Crusade' well enough. I'll trust JMS with a re-imagined series - BUT NOBODY ELSE!! I would be perfectly willing to give it the same chance I gave the original. Let's see what he has in mind!
More Lost Tales, animated if that's what they decide would work, would be fine with me. I also wouldn't hate seeing some of the unproduced Crusade scripts reworked as movies to continue that as well.
Where they should go is with Crussade, since that spin off series never got a decent chance to fix what the Drakh plague attack did to Earth. As it got canned before it got interesting.
Animated movies that would be welcome imo. 1) war without end sequel - covering the events around Londo's death and vir's assention to the throne. 2) telepath war. 3) thirdspace aliens more fleshed out. 4) crusade stuff. 5) multi verse crazy adventure stuff.
I liked B5 but I liked Crusade more. I think given timelines and alternate universes there should be some way to save the station and do a continuation. More Crusade for me though, maybe by now they have a whole fleet of them and they found a cure.
I'd rather they do a remake because the financial issues that the original had to deal with and the failed spinoffs just makes a continuation a jumbled mess. The original was never perfect that they could cut, fix, or explored more in depth in a remake I see the remake like the two different movie versions of Let the Right One In where both versions are good but they put focus on different aspects of the novel.
I think people might be missing how the Road Home ended was at the beginning of Babylon 5 in an alternate universe, visited by the Sheridan from the reality WE know. I think that was a brilliant way to set up a reboot because it DOES leave the original story alone while leaving room for all sorts of tweaks from one reality to another. For example, the absence of IPX. That alone opens the door for another reality between John and Anna Sheridan. I think that's an absolutely brilliant way to approach a reboot. So I say, let Strazynski work his magic on this.
I liked The Road Home as well, and I'd buy more of those movies on 4K-Blu-ray too. I would also absolutely watch a re-imagined B5 series by JMS (without adverts), but of course no one knows how good it would actually be. So if there'll be no re-imagined series, but more animated movies, I can live with that. One thing though. Had anyone ever asked fans of the original Battlestar Galactica if they wanted a re-imagined series? If so, did they say yes? As far as I know, neither was the case, so maybe a re-imagined Babylon 5 could surprise us in good ways. Maybe it could acquire its own fandom, just as Ronald D. Moore's Battlestar Galactica did. We won't know until someone tries.
As I recall seasons 4 & 5 were not as originally intended. They were not sure if they would be renewed after season 4 so they started tying down lose ends and bringing the shadow war to its conclusion then they were told they could do a fifth season. I do wonder what the original intended storyline sequence would have been and this reboot may have been an opportunity to see the original vision.
I think a new take on Babylon 5 telling the story as he originally had it designed, Babylon 4 being brought to the future to fight earth and the shadows etc would be interesting to see. I love the old cast and it would be hard to replace the original but it could work.
Animated movies from the canon books, use as much of the original cast as possible for the voices. There, done, easy! Some of the books have become hard to track down for those of us that don't already own them. It gives people a "continuation" that is already in canon in a format that is accessable to more people.
A JMS lead reimagining / remake would be interesting but a remake by someone else would be DOA. Several animated movies with in original universe would be interesting. I always thought as they wrapped up the series they had the new command crew coming on board left a good 15 - 20 year gap between the foundation of the ISA and the decommissioning of B5 that could be filled. We could see the real Telepath War for a single of many possible examples.
The only thing I would want for B5 now is a HD/4K remaster and a solid tweak of the special effects to bring them up to modern standards. Maybe slightly longer fight scenes as well to add to the immersion. The story is a good one and it's well told. But it is told and doesn't need to be told again.
I know everyone's tastes are always different, but I just want to say that you should give at least some of the animated shows that are out there through the many decades an open-minded try as you just might (hopefully) be pleasantly surprised :) . Animated shows can be done so that even we adults can still enjoy it, both for humor and for more serious fare. Good examples (in addition to The Road Home which was most enjoyable) include the original Looney Tunes shorts and several of the animated superhero shows from the 1990s to early 2000s (Batman The Animated Series, Superman The Animated Series, the Justice League animated series, etc.). The latter shows were actually significantly better in just about every way than the live action movies involving the same characters, IMHO. With that said, I am excited to hear that more animated B5 projects may be coming soon!
yes a real remaster would be great because it was filmed with 16:9 format in mind. and get the vfx redone by the some studio i would really buy a new box if that happens.
I agree, but you know what I want more of? The Vorlons many mistakes, other stories setup by the events of the movie Thirdspace. Although now I'm thinking both could be done: Create a spinoff based off something the Vorlons did, then reimagine the original series, change the name and set it in an alternate timeline. That's about the only way of making a TV series out of it, and much could probably be based off of that original bible he had for B5, which I believe was originally going to be called Babylon Prime.
Honestly a possible idea is to make a “Babylon 5 Elswords” animated movie - recasting the characters, adding new characters and see how people like it. Make it clear that this isn’t “canon”. That it is Elsworlds. Yes, I know they can’t call it that. But create that own thing for B5.
In terms of whether the animated movies "will do well"... all I can say is, if the first one was available on a provider that I have, I would have watched it (and probably enjoyed it)... however, I won't be paying for *another* streaming service, just to watch it, or any subsequent animated movie. If a re-boot of Babylon 5 came along, on a "provider" that I already have, then I'd watch it... we still have the original, if we want to go back to that... it doesn't take that away. However, I agree that a live-action re-boot probably isn't needed, and I can see how a continuation would be difficult. How about a live-action re-boot of Crusade? Being set in the Bab5 universe, it could have "visits" from Bab5 characters (those actors who are still with us)... something new with links to the previous. That is the way! (I know... wrong franchise LOL). Stargate managed to do some great "spin-offs" from the original story... let's hope Baby5 can do the same!
I wonder whether the sales figures from the recent Blu Ray release and the sales of The Road Home might have a bearing on this. Obviously they do for the animated movies (if they're making a second one already, The Road Home must have been profitable?). But it might also give some indication on live action as well (especially the original series release).
Thanks for the update. I think that it is time to discuss another project from JMS as he has proven his 'mettle' and - don't call it '''B-5' call it FROM THE CREATOR of 'B-5' and i twill be just fine.
I'm torn on this one, first off, I loved The Road Home, and welcome more animated movies/series. I would also love to see a reboot of Crusade tbf, I thought that was an amazing premise. As far as a new series goes, I would definitely give it a go, for sure I'd watch it, but.... Would they get it right, I trust JMS, but I don't think the original can be improved on story and character wise... Sooo... Reboot crusade, there's a ton of material there, you could cross over some episodes with past events etc. Anyway, more animated movies good!
Once upon a time, there waa a rumor that JMS was doing a acript for a live action Lensman movie; I'd rather see him do that. I doagree with you that I would prefer they do continuation stories aither of B5 directly or of Crusade.
Oh so many good options for a live action series. A reboot under jms definately, dont who who was asked but the original series was not perfect, it was cutoff at s4. Other options are spinoff shows on crusade, legend of the rangers, earth-minbari war, shadow war etc. Im a life long b5 fan and would love to see this happen.
i would have loved an babylon 5 show set in same time frame, but we se all things from shadow and vorlon's side of it and more lore and intriges with them.
Really, really tough sell. On one hand I'm curious to see how JMS has evolved and the potential in B5's fertile ground. However, even the greats can lose their mojo, or just catch lightning in a bottle... Part of me is curious, a re-imagination wouldn't hurt the OG, but then again, the magic captured with all those actors, the poetry, was truly truly special... not to mention... what thems would be developped here? How thought provoking without being on-the-nose a new series could be?
They can make a show or movie set in the B5 universe and not be on B5. Title example: :Rangers of Earth - Reclamation (A Babylon 5 story) (I’ve wanted a small story set aside for this time period since I saw the end of season 4) Set during the rebuilding of Earth following getting bombed back to the Stone Age, as seen in Session 4 Episode 22 The Destruction of Falling Stars. As for the transition to Animation. I’m not opposed, so long as they do it well. Animation has so much more flexibility and potential when it comes to environments, depictions of low G interactions and habitations etc. Example: the low G parts in Gundam OO (2007) (and some other sci-fi anime) looks and feels better than a lot of low G scenes in sci-fi I see from Hollywood. And I’m including the interior design of ships and stations. The orbiting ship at the start of avatar was good too. But with animation, not only do environments have more potential but also there’s more flexibility in introducing previously unseen and new alien species. And you can have more flexibility with actors as you only need the voice etc.
there was about 20 years after b5 ended, there was also a brief attempt to reboot/followw in with , the lost tales, so theres still 15 years of stories to play with. Theres the telepath wars to do. As afar as babylon 5 was concerned, it was the last of the stations from the pilot, way back in 1990 odd, so it was always limited to a certain extent. B5 lasted for over 20 years after sheridan left. So theres still pleanty of material to play Theres also the episodes that go into the future, with arcs left to play with, so some spin offs. As far of the quality of Babylon 5 the original series is concerned its quality is blows the likes of the Star trek shows clean out out of the water for quality and consistency. I've watched them all and B5 wins hand down. when B5 and ds9 were about I watched them both. How many times has Spiderman been rebooted, will we see 4th- 5th time in next few years. Don't mess with a classic as Paramount have learn't, they've had to go back to basics, with Picard, lower decks and strange new worlds, reconnected people back with the roots/origins. B5 is still pure, leave it be, build on it respectfully, for the groundbreaking computer effects, long narritive story arcs, charictisation, comedy, space battles etc
There's a whole lot of ground left to cover between the episodes Objects At Rest and Sleeping In Light. A little less gloom and doom, please. Telling some of the story we didn't get during Crusade would be nice.
They should cover the story in the Passing of the Technomages novels. They were amazing stories and would translate to a show perfectly. I thought these books were as good as anything from the Babylon 5 universe.
Gutted to hear the reboot may not be happening now - particularly having just watched "The Road Home" which felt like a great way to hand the baton from one timeline to the next. Partly because the route to Babylon 5 using the 2020s as a starting point is going to be different to the original timeline that uses the 1990s as a starting point. I was sort of seeing the reboot as the sign of a "last best hope"...that we can still get to B5 from the broken world we live in today. I wanted the next generation coming up to be taught about the Vorlons and the Shadows because hell knows modern politics makes me feel like a Starfury pilot caught in the middle of a battle between the two First Ones.
It may be the end of the Babylon Stations, but the end of the series was the birth of the Interstellar Alliance. Not to mention, we never got a resolution to the Draq plague and what happened to the Excaliber.
It is incredible to me that fans and WB execs (making these decisions) would rather have fewer stories from JMS than more. Regardless of the quality of a new series, we will always have the original. To pre-judge something before it is made is crazy. Give the man a chance, he deserves that much.
Call it B5-2 and show us what ya got. The point in time when AI starts being more widely used is coming up fast. Re-imagining any IP in a hundred different ways will be easy and common enough with professionals as well as the average youtuber.
I liked the Road Home. I'm not closed in a new B5 show, so long as JMS is fully in control. To follow on from your suggestion the animated movie was kinda 'preachy/religious' I didn't feel that at all considering the transitioning between ages and eras it warranted a religious tone to it. BUT the original captured Lightning in a Bottle of the original cast I would honestly rather spend several million on building new SFX and give a whole AI upgrade on upscaling to 4k 16:9 quality. I just watched a 1958 Jerry Lewis clip that was upgraded, upscaled colorized to 4k 60fps and it was magical. Yes, doing the whole 5 seasons and tele movies would require a reasonable purse of coin, but that was before AI, and now with AI that would surely drive the costs and time needed down significantly. Then re-releasing the series on streaming and on 4K Bluray I would say every fan would buy this as we've been yearning for this dream for so long and now there significantly more fans for the original series - they would also not think twice about investing in such an outstanding series.
People rarely know what they want before they get it. I for one hope the reboot is still happening. Not because the original needs improvement, but honestly, more Babylon 5 is always welcome. I'm curious what a JMS helmed reboot could look like.
I'm perfectly fine with a reboot. If it sucks, we still have the original, if its good.... we still have the original. Either way, we can still watch the original series.
It has run it's course. Yes the animated film did reboot the timeline in an alternative timeline. I get he wants a redo. But you are correct B5 is perfection.
I enjoyed the animated movie, but need more story if they're going to do more than one more. I would be fine with a live action reimagined series, but it would have to justify itself, not retell a story already told well once. Nostalgia on its own isn't enough for either.
Crusade seemed to move things right along. Always plenty of ways to make the show go forward. Doesn't need to be set on a Babylon station just in the same universe.
There is plenty to work with story-wise; for example, The Telepath War. You know Lyta’s story is far from over. She’s a bomb with an attitude. She’s building a teep world, but won’t forget her deal with Garibaldi. He has a score to settle. And if you were paying attention, Jason Ironheart’s gift to Talia wasn’t merely telekinetic, but an ability to shut even a psi-cop out of her mind. A safe space. A place where she could hide her first true personality from the evil one she was subsequently programmed with. Talia’s story is not over, either. Does Londo’s “gift” spring onto an unsuspecting David Sheridan? Or does Lennier reemerge to save the day and his honor by preventing a Drak takeover? And what of the Drak and the other shadow minions? That story isn’t done, either. There is plenty to do. Wrap up in a group that calls themselves the Babylon 5 working group. Keep the name. After all, you’re still using the name of a city founded 3,000 years ago. No hard reboot. Not needed. Plenty to work with here.
I wasn't actually bothered about the re-imagining, the continuation animated movie was great and I'd rather have more of them. B5 was decommissioned in 2281 and The Road Home was set in 2262, so we have 19 years to fill in... seems like a no-brainer.
I wouldn’t have a problem with a new reimagined B5, with live actors. The overall story arc would still work and a new series would attract younger viewers to the franchise.
Gj nerds, this is why we can't have nice things. >< No one would've forced you to watch new B5 if you didn't want to, but nooooow nooooobody gets it. Studios: you never listened to fans before, don't friggin start now :p
If there was so much appetite for spin offs in the B5 universe, how come Crusade or Legends of the Rangers didn't get off the ground (yeah, I know of TNT sabotage and the blizzard. But I never heard much of fans' outrcry that the shows were cancelled early)? I loved what I got of both shows, and am still miffed that we got so little of them. I'm fine with a hard reboot if JMS is at the helm, but I'm also onboard with continuations of both series, if that's possible. But the original B5 story is finished, there's no point trying to milk that specific scenario.
Gah, fandoms will be the death of these franchises. Literally, in this case. Those of us that enjoyed B5 first time round are crusty old farts now. Folk in their thirties and younger have barely heard of it, let alone watched it. A reboot with JMS is the perfect way to keep the flame alive. It's not as if there isn't another classic show that got rebooted and is beloved (BSG)... Fans should get their say, but producers should feel free to ignore them.
IMO, the B5 story is complete and the actors chosen for the original can not be replaced. What can be done, however, is to use AI to enhance the video for modern screens and the SFX can be redone as well. Also, remember Sanctuary? Most of the acting was done in front of a green screen and the background was computer generated. If those working on the new B5 used AI to strip the actors from their background, they could be composited onto new backgrounds, completely changing the appearance of the show. It would be like taking an old, rusty GTO and rebuilding it into a modern muscle car with all the amenities a person would expect in a new car. I'd pay to see that!
I agree that the original actors cannot be replaced, per se. But that is solvable. It can be solved with excellent actors that aren't allowed free reign to impose their own take on the characters. Like if you are performing the play Hamlet, you are expected to perform it with the correct style and attitude. In movies, like how Josh Brolin in Men in Black 3 studied the character, in emotional, physical and vocal mannerisms that Tommy Lee Jones created in the first two Men in Black movies. This attention to detail would be required of all the actors replacing those actors that are no longer able to believably play their original parts. It's a tall order especially with typical actors' hubris to think they can do it better. They should only be permitted minimal latitude with the characters they portray, and only when necessary for the story. It does mean hiring highly skilled, classically trained actors with the ability to incorporate an in-depth study of the previous portrayal into their own performances. That is a tall order to fill, especially if a studio or investor insists on placing their golden children in specific rolls they aren't suited for. JMS has to be in a position of full creative control like before so he can say "It's my way or the highway" to anyone attempting to corrupt the production.
I prefer live over animated, and I would like to see a remake of the original series. IIRC, JMS has said he would do things somewhat differently, and I would like to see the story told without the issues they had the first time.
Too many of the original actors are dead to do an effective live action continuation, unless it's not really Babylon 5 and the remaining original actors are just handing it off to a new cast in a new show set in the same universe. I'm not sure if that's any better than JMS' original idea. If it's a continuation, then you can't really call it Babylon 5, since I don't think it would make sense to continue on the station, based on some of the previously established canon, regarding it's post B5 series future.
Sorry, but I'm with Henry Ford and Steve Jobs on this one. If we listened to what people say literally, we'd be riding mechanical horses now. I'm 111% in to see a B5 reboot, with a new cast, with better production tech, with 3 decades of real-world events to make reference to, led by a JMS 30 years more experienced.
How about stories of what was happening in the Babylon 5 universe outside of Babylon 5. Or more of the other races, especially the older races. What was happening in their universe while seeing the shadows coming to power and they are not getting involved.
Voice actors are cheaper than your film actors. I would like see a GOOD live action reboot, but I won't turn down more animated movies. I also want a reboot the same way Battlestar Galactica got one - both original/reboot great, but very different shows. A reboot could have a little grittier feel.
I really don't understand where you are coming from. Babylon 5 Season 5 is set in 2261. The last episode, the Decommissioning of Babylon 5 is set in 2281. As General Ivanova describes, Earth had 4 wars of 5 years each. Plenty of scope to set continuation stories using Babylon 5. No-one is talking about Babylon 6,7 or 8.
I want to see a show where the dark age monastic humans, the survivors of the great burn, transcend into the spiritual beings similar to the vorlon, as shown in the wrap up episode of series 4.
NO REBOOT OR REIMAGINING. Sheridan is literally behind me on this. Make it a story I'm the B5 universe. Their lack of creativity is disturbing, there will always need to be outposts, space stations etc. Just because it says Babylon 5 doesn't need to be on B5, some of the prequel TV movies you talk about didn't even take place on the station because it didn't exist yet. New story ,new crew, new situations in the same universe. Do it right or don't do it.
I would like to see a reboot, add in Crusade and Legend of the Rangers as well, just don't be stupid like they did with LOTR, having it broadcast during major sporting events like the NFL division finals.
Honestly I want a continuation, Crusade and Legend of the Rangers left huge plots open ended.
The story of Valen and how he formed the Grey Council would be cool.
@@Visceralrealitythat could always be a time travel adventure.
@@popmonika
it would probably start where Sinclaire left off as valen
At this point I'd say the best bet for an Animated TV Show would be:
1) Finish Crusade.
2) Flesh out the Earth Alliance Civil War (we did lose a lot of episodes when S4 and S5 were consolidated).
3) The Psi-war. Any excuse to get a healthy dose of Bester. And hey, just because he half-said Talia was dead he could've been lying and maybe Andrea Thompson could be brought back in.

i would watch a b5 remake but i am perfectly happy with the animated movies. i wish they would also release more books in the b5 universe. i am a big reader so i would love that too :)
I agree that it would be great to see a continuation of Crusade.
I would love to see more of what leads up to the Crusade series and then include the Crusade mission in the series
We already know what leads up to the Crusade mission. That's what the TV-movie "A Call to Arms" was about.
I still want to see the telepath war, there's lot of story to tell beyond what was said at the end of the original B5 series
I am 110% in support of a new, reimagined Babylon 5 series. The original is always going to be there. But I would love to see how JMS would do it now. It wouldn't be the same story, just a similar one with the same themes. That could be great. I hope it still happens.
Yes, this is what I've been hoping for, as well.

I`d like to see more stories like the Road home. Chances reboot may be decent in the current climate aren`t that high. Just finish the Crusade!🙂
I would prefer more animated movies with as much of the original cast as possible over a reboot with new actors playing the parts
Animated movies that would be welcome imo.
1) war without end sequel - covering the events around Londo's death and vir's assention to the throne.
2) telepath war.
3) thirdspace aliens more fleshed out.
4) crusade stuff.
5) multi verse crazy adventure stuff.
I personally didn't like The Road Home so much. But it was nice to see some favorite characters again even if only animated.
Would be fine with an animated series or even just more movies.
I actually wouldn’t be opposed if they keep the same quality as the animated flick. Babylon 5’s story has been told successfully
I'm all for finishing Crusade and covering the Telepath War.
I give up, I was praying for a series with real people. I just can't take a cartoon seriouly
The Robotech Saga was as good as B5. Try it
I'd rather the existing canon continue in animation vs a woke reboot.
yes a real remaster would be great because it was filmed with 16:9 format in mind. and get the vfx redone by the some studio i would really buy a new box if that happens.
I am interested in a new series with David as the focus. I hope the magic that made the show can be reimagined.
i would have loved an babylon 5 show set in same time frame, but we se all things from shadow and vorlon's side of it and more lore and intriges with them.
I agree that if it’s not live action forget it. 10:30
I would like to see a complete breakdown of the First Ones and the Vorlons and Shadows. All the way back to the beginning.
They can make a show or movie set in the B5 universe and not be on B5. Title example:
:Rangers of Earth - Reclamation
(A Babylon 5 story)
(I’ve wanted a small story set aside for this time period since I saw the end of season 4)
Set during the rebuilding of Earth following getting bombed back to the Stone Age, as seen in Session 4 Episode 22 The Destruction of Falling Stars.
As for the transition to Animation. I’m not opposed, so long as they do it well. Animation has so much more flexibility and potential when it comes to environments, depictions of low G interactions and habitations etc.
Example:
the low G parts in Gundam OO (2007) (and some other sci-fi anime) looks and feels better than a lot of low G scenes in sci-fi I see from Hollywood.
You make me sad..
Thank you for update :)
This is just based on their opinion of course but their opinion is educated.
I would like to see a reimagining. It could also still be canon, like a split timeline, which they hinted at several times in the original.
I want the universe to continue. Doesn't matter if its a reboot.
What about Crusade? That was a continuation of the universe, and was poor to most fans. Where do you stand?
@@Ratlegion i miss that show. I forgot the name. Thanks.
It may be the end of the Babylon Stations, but the end of the series was the birth of the Interstellar Alliance. Not to mention, we never got a resolution to the Draq plague and what happened to the Excaliber.
Let it go I say. It was great and it's done. Surely to goodness there must be some new writers with good ideas?
A continuation, yes please.
I would love a new live action babylon 5 series but with on proviso they have to sign up to complete the story over x amounts of seasons.
Personally, I’d prefer reimagined live-action over animated. And this is a long-time B5 fan. Thanks for the update.
WB is very active in video games, so I wonder if there's a possibility for a B5 video game now that the franchise is now revitalized.
Would love to see a new live action TV show of Babylon five.
Always room for a new generation. Sheriden and Delenn's child needs to break free and show he/she is her own person!
Oh no! Netflix will Frack it up for sure. I loved the Road Home, except for the fact that the shadows all of a sudden have shields 🙄
Animation could fill in some of the plot holes form B5.
Really need to finish Crusade. Left it open ended.
WBs have ALWAYS underestimated and undervalued Babylon 5 and it's ALWAYS exceeded expectations. When will they learn?
Voice actors are cheaper than your film actors. I would like see a GOOD live action reboot, but I won't turn down more animated movies. I also want a reboot the same way Battlestar Galactica got one - both original/reboot great, but very different shows. A reboot could have a little grittier feel.
hope they still redo the series like they planned to
I really don't understand where you are coming from.
How about a time , black hole story line?
I want to see a show where the dark age monastic humans, the survivors of the great burn, transcend into the spiritual beings similar to the vorlon, as shown in the wrap up episode of series 4.
The events at the end of b5 happen far in the future from the end of the shadow war. There's YEARS of life left in the station after the series ends.
I was hoping for a non animation series, get the feeling it just will never happen even with JMS. Better to leave it be if that’s the case.
Instead of a reboot, why not finish Crusade?
I's like to see the whole Telepath War animated or not.
Nothing that wishes to be successful should ever consider Netflix as a platform.
I would like to see a reboot, add in Crusade and Legend of the Rangers as well, just don't be stupid like they did with LOTR, having it broadcast during major sporting events like the NFL division finals.
If the cartoons can show the interest is there and money can be made we will get a live action show.
Babylon six or Babylon one. taking it in so many different directions
