The famous Soviet song "Polyushko-pole" (or "The Song of the Plains", or "Meadowland") performed by the Red Banner Song and Dance Ensemble of the Soviet Army named after A.V. Alexandrov (The Alexandrov Red Army Choir), which, due to its wide popularity, is considered to be a folk song.

This is a clip from a 1965 musical film "Soviet Army Chorus, Band and Dance Ensemble" (Germany-USSR).
The shooting of this clip was made in Kurkino, near Moscow by a German operator, former operator of Hitler.
Folk music of the Soviet Union the Soviet Army, Chorus, Band and Dance Ensemble performs a wide variety of Russian dances and songs.
This rare and historic program was filmed on location in the former Soviet Union The brilliant ensemble consisted of about 200 entertainers including a choir and choreographic troupe, who traveled the front lines, entertaining Soviet troops by performing more than 1500 concerts during World War II.

Диана снимала в 2023 году видео практически в том же месте, что и видео 1965 года. "Полюшко-поле" - Ансамбль им. А.В. Александрова (1965) - Съемки клипа проходили в Куркино, недалеко от Москвы. (сейчас это район Москвы, природный парк, р. Сходня)
I totally get the Monty Python reference. :) Nice perspective video in regard to Diana's new song. Diana's modernized version is much more somber/ominous and reflective of the cost of war. This is more of a proud victory march.
And I didn't understand at all about Monty Python, the article about it on Wikipedia only confused me. A song written in 1933, and which has become a folk song, cannot be performed equally by a military choir and orchestra in 1965 and by a young girl in 2023. In my opinion, the girl is closer to the original. The original was created when Soviet art experimented with pure non-utilitarian art, these trends will soon after the appearance of this song begin to be branded and condemned as "formalism". In 1965, verses with abstract ("formal") metaphors were thrown out, and even in one case "tanks" were inserted instead of "heroes". In 2023, only the most "formal" couplets remained in the text.
@@кириллкузкванов The Monty Python reference has nothing to do with the song. It was just the sounds of the horse that we both recognized from one of their movies. Thanks for your thoughts on the song. I appreciate it.

It's a military battle song, it shouldn't be sad. For Diana, this is a look into the past and sorrow for the defenders who have not returned from the battlefields.

Лайман, у Дианы получилась версия, в которой говорится о скорби и памяти, о том , что как и 100 лет назад вражья злоба, словно туча. И поле- место, где погибли миллионы бойцов. И аранжировка Брендона и голос Дианы наполнены печалью, болью, но Диана показала, что молодое поколение чтит память предков и готово отстаивать свою историю и ценности!
Мне нравится Ваша вдумчивость, что Вы хотите понять о чем пела Диана, о чем песня вообще, уважаю Вас!
