either way, i mean i used baby gates for my dog and they were broken so i always stepped over them which wasn't hard at all to do quietly. they not that high, even my dog learned to jump over it, and if she was sleep deprived she could've easily misremembered how fast she was able to get back into the room her husband was in, and maybe he did have plenty of time. if he played a prank on her and she came in their flipping out about it, i'm not surprised at all he would pretend he didn't do it and hope she believed him so he could avoid having her stay mad at him

Tbh in regards to the first story, as a sleep walker this 100% sounds like she could have fallen asleep in the shower. The lights and music fading could easily be the sleep limiting her intake of the world around her and as she began to wake up, she dreamt herself adjusting everything.
So many bizarre happenings can be explained by sleep. Its a very untouched area of science because we know so little about it and it's very hard to study but the feeling of stimuli going dull and not understanding all of what happened but still knowung you moved is very similar to my experience with sleep walking.

As someone with bouts of insomnia, 100% agree. Prolonged sleep deprivation can be TERRIFYING. Audio/Visual/physical hallucinations can all occur. I’ve seen people who weren’t there, my muscles have twitched in such a way that I thought someone tapped or grabbed me, I’ve heard my fiancé calling my name, etc.
I’ve even vividly dreamt that I did certain chores & tasks I needed to do, only to realize once I’ve ‘come to’ that it was all purely imagined.
I’ve got no history of schizophrenia in my family, no meds that would cause this, and my Doctors have confirmed this is *common* for sleep deprivation. I cannot imagine what it would be like to live that every day.
Honestly, that she most likely fell asleep in the shower is much much scarier than a ghost, because god forbid she fell & cracked her head against the wall…or worse 😳

This. I actually wondered if she fell asleep, the boyfriend went to check on her and saw her asleep, at which point she stirred briefly and saw him. He could have decided to let her sleep where she was (presumably not standing) and turned her music off and turned the lights off to help her. Then his ability to move back in time could be explained by her falling back asleep for a while. That doesn't explain why he didn't just say so afterward, maybe he was embarrassed by this stupid idea and didn't admit to it, or maybe that detail was fake because maybe the whole story is fake lol.

My first thought was to blame the sleep deprivation. I have severe insomnia, and after a few days of little to no sleep, I develop symptoms of psychosis. The brain doesn't work well. I've dissociated, I've lost time, I've had visual and auditory hallucinations, the whole deal. That was my first thought when she said she was sleep deprived when this happened. I'd buy it, 100%!

My mum experienced a creepy situation in which a deranged guy stuck a coin up between her door and its frame. He thought she wouldn’t notice it but she had incredible ears. He was trying to keep track of whether she stopped by her flat or not within a certain time period. Bonkers. Maybe someone was tracking our Smosh friend? The best sleepwalking story I know is a friend of mine had a one night stand, got up in the middle of the night and left her house totally naked.
    No phone, wallet, clothes, nothing.
Walked confidently down the road until he saw an old man walking his dog, he said the thing that woke him up was locking eyes with the guy, and being stared at was enough to bring him to consciousness... so he looks behind him... no idea which house he came out of or how long he'd been walking.
The guy gave him a jumper, phoned him a taxi, and gave him enough money to get himself home.
    That dog walker a legend.

when i was a kid (10 or so), i went into my parents' room while sleepwalking, told them i had to pee, they said something like, "okay? go pee...?" then went into my brother's room instead of the bathroom. by the time my mom got up and came to redirect me, i was apparently already in my brother's closet, squatting down like i was going to pee there.
to this day, i wonder if i was actually the culprit of the messes we thought our dog left on the floor overnight:(

@@caseyjc5 that's absurd to say all ghost stories are in people's heads. Like I get not believing in ghosts, that's reasonable. There's so many unexplainable things that happen though. Unfortunately, in Canada there is a very well-known case where a man got the Canadian version of an insanity plea (called Not Criminally Responsable) where a man, who had really bad sleep paralysis, one night drove and murdered his in-laws while asleep. All the l9cks were originally put out of reach but ended up being tall made it rough so I got a lock on my door, while definitely not safe I always wanted to go outside, so locked windows and doors.

I first thought that maybe he did have split personalities and that he does sleepwalk and screams quite often in his sleep, but then on the nights when he's not screaming, the other "Greg" would stalk OP. But your theory sounds more plausible. That or Shayne's talk of a "sleepwalk-off" is very true and Greg would have been the winner.

When I was little, my dad worked at a cemetery (he did the sandblasting for the headstones) and we had numerous "ghostly" things happen in our house. Later on after we had moved out my dad met a lady who could read auras. She told him that he had a comforting and welcoming aura that caused things to follow him (all my life he would bring home numerous stray animals that would follow him home too, some were rehomed and others became pets). When we heard this we thought that would explain a lot of the experiences because none of them ever felt like they were similar. Like, certain ghosts would follow him home, hang out for a day or two, then follow him back to the cemetery.

My great-grandma used to be a very strict lady. She would complain to her kids/grandkids about making the smallest mess in the house and repert "annoying kids clean your mess now!" whenerver something was off. When she died (old age, back in the 80s) my family sold her house to a guy who wanted to build an hotel in the place. I few months went by and we noticed the construction of the hotel had suddenly stopped. Out of curiosity my father asked the guy what happened, and he said he was having trouble finding new ppl to work as on-site night security, as the last 5 guys only stayed for a few nights before quitting, all of them scared about seeing an old lady screaming at them "annoying kids clean your mess now!"

The comment on the sleep walking story where they talked about hiding their car keys totally unlocked an old memory for me. When I was in high school, a couple other kids and myself lived fairly far from the school, so we would get picked up at our houses by a van instead of at a bus stop. One time our van driver told us that she used to work two jobs, and her constant tiredness led her to become a sleepwalker. She said she would "wake up" in the morning, make coffee and her sons school lunch, get in her car, drive to the lot where the school vans are kept, get in hers, drive to 3 different houses to pick up 3 different kids, then hop on the highway headed to the school. On the highway is usually where she would ACTUALLY wake up. No memory of doing anything before just COMING TO while driving 65 on the highway with 3 kids in her van. Said she apparently would greet the kids as she picked them up and everything. Even they didnt know she was still asleep. She insisted she slept much better those days and it wasn't a problem for her anymore, but shortly after I got my license and started driving myself instead. 😬

Honestly these stories could also be something along the lines of DID. l have it and some symptoms can mirror sleepwalking. Have had instances where someone else wakes up does some stuff, goes back to sleep, and then l wake up later having not known l got up at all. Or just periods of time where l go to bed and just wake up somewhere random. Grogginess, confusion, lack of coordination, and weird excuses for behavior can also line up with DID.

The very first story hit home HARD for me. Another TH-camr has actually featured my experience in a video before. But, trying to keep it short, I stayed the weekend with my friends at their grandma’s house. She had a finished basement with tons of couches. We all got to pick one. I have struggled with insomnia since I was a kid, so I chose the couch in front of the basement stairs so I could use the light on the landing to read. I get very absorbed in reading and I don’t know how long it was happening, but I eventually became conscious of footsteps running up and down the stairs. I dismissed it as the dogs and carried on reading. I finished the book and started trying to sleep. But the footsteps just kept running up and down the stairs. So I figured I’d go let the dogs outside. But that’s when I remembered that the dogs WERE outside. I tried to convince myself it was their grandparents but that made no sense. And I could see all of my friends sleeping in their chosen spots. Eventually I heard the landing creak and the footsteps stopped. I looked and it was literally my friend standing there, looking out the little window in the basement door that led outside. Only she was wearing the pajamas I watched her leave at home. Eventually, it turned to look at me. The exact same face. Except the eyes were more amber than brown. Their eyes widened like it was in pain and it turned and sped up the stairs. I heard the footsteps run toward the kitchen and go silent.
I immediately went and laid down between all of my friends and stayed awake the whole night. Roughly 30 minutes after that incident, I heard the footsteps start up again. I told my friends when they woke up and they kind of thought I was pranking them. But, exhausted, I went to sleep before all of them the next time, laying between them all. When I woke up, they seemed like they hadn’t slept and told me they’d heard running footsteps all night. Terrifying.

And then when op STOPPED waking up to it when he was in his room he probably tested the water to see just how deeply op was asleep until him screaming was "normal" to an asleep op or at least hearing noises. THAT'S when he was able to make the stake and begin enacting his plan. He clearly had been in ops room multiple times to take pictures of him over the months. So crazy thing about sleep paralysis is it takes place in REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep mode, AKA when you dream. During REM, your body self paralyzes so you don't injure yourself moving while hallucinating/dreaming. Sometimes you can have "waking dreams" or sleep paralysis where you are actually aware or awake during REM.
You are hallucinating in waking mode but because your body is still in sleep mode you are unable to move. Thus why you feel like something or someone is holding you down. It's a terrifying situation but understanding the cause helps.

Story #1: Simplest explanation is the husband pulled a bad prank. When he saw she reacted so negatively combined with immediately believing him innocent and jumping to the ghost conclusion, he just continued to gaslight her and play along to avoid the fight. Same goes with Florida house guy in story #4. No ghost, just wanted her to sell the house and was trying to get her to believe it was haunted and failing badly. If the option is between "ghost did it" or "clear and easy human explanation for occurrence", it's almost always the human option.

I had to pause the video multiple times during the discussion around story #4, just so i wouldn't punch my screen. Amanda and Kris both said in the beginning that it was good to be sceptical, because you can't just believe everything and 99% of all claims get debunked. And then, in a story where someone goes: "Hey! Sell your house, give me the money and then move with me to another state, far from your family and friends! What do you mean, no? Oh noes, unfortunately your house seems to be haunted, but by sheer coincidence only when you're not around. Me thinks you have to do the right thing now and sell your house, what a bummer..." both of them immediately go "Yep, that's definitely a real haunting, there can't possibly be any other explanation." WTF?

Hearing the striped shirt man story reminded me of a creepy story my mom told me. Back before she met my dad, she had divorced a previous husband after being married less than a year because of his drunken abuse. After the divorce, she woke one morning to his standing over her bed, watching her sleep. She has kept a gun in her home since then and filed a restraining order against the ex. Whats worse, his brother (who was a cop) visited to try and convince her to drop the restraining order, and when she refused, he instead tried to flirt with her. Needless to say, she kicked him out of the house.
Oh, did I mention she was a single mom to her first born baby at the time?? I can’t imagine how terrified she must have been
