Music is "Playing With Lightning" by Expansion Union
"Drops people down an elevator shaft or collects human skulls" NOPE Gordon would never do that. Nope.
ShowToddSomeLove "Hey where's the elevator?" *pushes button*
Happens an unreasonably high number of times, though
nah, he cant even shoot a gun, he would never
Gordon has always wanted to kill people at a push of a button
To be fair, that was an accident.
Yeah. In Freeman's Mind, he talks about collecting skulls, accidentally makes two guys fall down an elevator shaft, and says that he has always wanted to be an evil scientist. But Shephard just assumed that he did those things because that is what you would expect an evil scientist to do.
The phones dead
rip phone
*intro*
I like how in Freeman's mind, Gordon is a paranoid, self centered asshole. Shepard here however, aside from being kind of sarcastic and snarky is actually a pretty decent guy. I have found a new hero for the series.
SilverFang1496 ITS A SHEPHARD
And Barney just admires Gordon and is overall a nicer guy.
gman actually saved his ass, that osprey crashes like 30 seconds after take off
+kris stasko how did you know?
i played the game, if you stay at the door and look through the window you see it happen
+kris stasko K thanks i just keep rushing to get out to the fact i didn't notice
No it didn't crashed.
I used the Cheat Noclip to glitch through the door and saw that it just lifted up without a crash.
It's a stretch but there might be a thing where the trigger for it crashing is the player standing where they can see it, without noclip. I don't think Kris would lie about it and I don't think you are, either.
"who just collects skulls"
Well...... thats correct
dreierik GORDON colects skulls
hes probably an evil scientist that drops people on elevator shafts
...thats also correct
Boris Memedov I'd like to see him.
dreierik he's in mars, i coulda give you a free ride to mars but the cops would flashlight my ass
Boris Memedov I see. Well.....bad luck I guess.
i wanna know who that freeman guy is.. he probably is a evil scientist that drops people in a elevator shaft...
Meanwhile at Freeman's mind.. Hey wheres the elevator? *presses button people fall with an elevator down*
blackgodproductions He also talks about collecting skulls, from his friend Jesse, I think.
lol xD
***** Eddie is the guy who buys skulls, and sells illegal shit. Jesse is Gordon's cousin, who is also a registered sex offender.
Ian Sterner And zaps himself with a full power cattle prod on his leg to deliberately paralyze himself.
blackgodproductions Yes but he didn't *know* he would do that, it was man slaughter.
"... the phone's dead."
"I swear, if I ever see that guy again, I'm gonna take that smug, little briefcase of his and shove it so far up his ass that he's gonna have to open his mouth to scan his ID."
Best quote ever!
I admire that in Freeman's mind Ross sounds like he is in his 30s which freeman is where in this series krimsin sounds in his 20s like Shepard is. I love the little details they put in these series
Actually Freeman is 27 but still pretty close to being in his 30s
am i the only one who almost shed a tear when he told odis to stay behind and watch other peoples backs
LOL at 3:36 Shepard is right. In Freeman's Mind, Freeman both used an elevator when a sign said not to so he killed two people, and he also mentions while climbing in air vents he collects skulls!
I still remember watching this episode by episode.
i love the creativity for hiding the melee weapon to make it look like he's using fists and legs to fight
3:32
Shephard: "I bet he's like some evil scientist who drops people from elevator shafts..."
Freeman: "I always wanted to be an evil scientist. Muhaha, MUHAHAHAHA!"
*some time later, he kills people from the elevator*
Freeman: " SORRY! DIDN'T MEAN TO KILL YOU! Oh man, I hope they were jerks."
"and just collects human skulls"
i forgot the freeman qoute to this but yeah
Did he actually call them headcrabs, despite not knowing their names?
+mR. rAdIoAcTiVe Well, Shephard thought they were crabs, and that they attacked the enemy's head, so he probably just made up the name. Coincidence, I guess?
The scientist in Episode 1 called them headcrabs.
4:14 - 4:41 = His mind
4:42 - 5:04 = Reality
YamatamoKhaziWE FUCKING know STOPID
Such a Badass in both of them
Ba-Da
Gaben
the phone is dead
"Don't put me on hold-ARGH! JUST DIE!!... The phones dead"
Best moment is always the beginning.
Hahahaha, that imaginary part made me laugh so hard XDD Awesome stuff mate :'D Love the way you always bring something new to the series
The deadpan pause and "the phones dead" made me spill my dinner. That was funny ^_^
the imagination part with the punching and techno music was realllly creative. It made me laugh. Kudos!
Under all of his other thoughts is a steady chant of 'How am I not dead yet? Why aren't I dead already? Hooooooow?!"
(Great series, by the way ^__^)
Crazy recoil? On an MP5? In the hands of a Marine?
Uh, okay buddy.
I mean, he also called a V-22 Osprey a 'helicopter' and keeps calling mags 'clips'.
But yeah, other than that, I'm sure he's not a civvie impostor that infiltrated the USMC somehow.
Keep in mind Shepard comments on the fact that he slept through most of boot camp and would always sneak off during training.
Also he was referring to the underbarrel grenade launcher which on an MP5 would have a shit ton of recoil.
And in episode 0 it's revealed that he calls mags 'clips' and the M249 an 'M60' intentionally to piss people off.
There’s no stock. It’s stock less, fully automatic 9mm fire. Even then in the HD Pack, it’s a 9mm conversion of the M4 Carbine. But it would then have almost zero recoil.. half life isn’t realistic let’s just call it a day
The peeing noise is just a stock sound effect loop from Half-life 2, but I recorded the actual sound of unzipping my pants on the microphone for added realism.
You're welcome.
While the writing and witty remarks in this series have improved as its gone on, I still feel there are some missteps that take me out of the viewing experience. In Freeman's Mind, Freeman is always reacting to the strange stuff that happens around him in an organic, believable way. Like when the game forces you to do a jumping puzzle in the box smashing room, he acknowledges how dangerous it is, or like when he only reluctantly jumps across the elevator shaft because that would never be a real person's first instinct. Here Shephard feels more like a guy doing an LP than Freeman being an actual character trapped in a dangerous situation. The crack about the electrified swimming pool was good, but it's kind of strange how at 8:25 he leaps across that gap without even commenting on it or showing any exertion. The LPer vibe is only strengthened by the audio mixing, with Shephard's voice always being quieter than the in-game audio if something really loud and cacophonous is happening. Not disabling the GUI was probably a mistake, as it further makes it seem like this is indeed just a Lets Play.
I realize expressing criticism of this sort of thing is a little late literally a decade later, but that kind of stuff takes the viewer out of the video.
I was left with the implication that the intact GUI is due to Shepard have an actual, in-universe GUI via some sort of google glass type thing.
The reason he kept the GUI is because the command to disable it doesn't work in Opposing Force. He had no choice but to keep it, so he made some jokes about it to compensate.
i'd also like to point out shepard is special forces. aka hes a badass, hes literally frank woods from black ops, every special forces member is. you dont get to that point without being mentally perfectly fine with taking another humans life without hesitation. not only that ive never seen him aim for the head, which if your a soldier or if you have a gun in general, training dictates that aiming for the head is never a good idea, you always want to aim for center of mass, aka the body.while this does take place more so during the cold war (HECU standard issue rifle is the M16A1 a weapon commonly used by american troops during the vietnam war, sometimes however the m1 carbine, or m1 grand is favored however.) in a way shepard isnt suppose to be like gordon, if he were afraid to make a jump like you described, it would hard to believe shepard would be a soldier, his job as a marine is literally to get shot at 24/7 when theres conflict. a MIT grad doesnt have to go through that intense shit. in a way im suprised gordon wasnt shitting bricks when he got his first gun.
If he hadn’t disabled the GUI, we wouldn’t have gotten the legendary line about it recognising his wrench as a weapon but not his chocolate bar.
phone's dead
2:32 That commander was actually talking to Freeman but didn't know it. You should have done a crossover with Ross Scott in this episode.
Awesome episode man.
"The phones dead."
...Awesome. You sir, have just made my evening.
Bloody hell, I was watching this at fullscreen,
"the phones dead"
GIANT SHEPHARD FACE
I shat myself.
Haha the beginning was pure awesomeness. "O_O--" "the phone's dead."
It's in the Half-Life series, yes. This game is called Half-Life: Opposing Force.
epic mp5 skills
this is getting better and better
great voice acting and awesome humour! 6 stars
it is never too late to begin the legal process of imprisoning the british
Say what you want, but my favorite character in all of the Half-Life games is Otis. Right after Lazlo, the finest mind of his generation.
This series gets real good. Starts kinda rough but you settle into it nicely. The bit before the intro made me drop my phone lol.
"The phone's dead." That's one for the books, right there. Instant classic!
XD
That's what makes this machinima worth the extra time, even after seeing Freeman's.
Episode 5 and I laugh for the first time. "Phone's dead." Okay, this series is starting to look up.
"Drops people down elevator shafts and collects human skulls" shout out Freeman's Mind! Lol! Hell yeah!
7:00 The air vent you're standing on may be metal, but I'm willing to bet the bottom of your shoes are rubber.
it's the old saying "any port in a storm" which in this context basically means "when you gotta go you gotta go"
who's watcing now in 2016
Everyone who has ever seen this comment.

everyone quoting that freeman's mind reference, meanwhile I'm laughing my ass off at the whole "showing up the briefcase so far up his ass he'll have to open his mouth to scan his ID." thing :D
lol one of the funniest quotes ive ehard in thewhole series (and ive seen them up to 23; awsome job Krimsin!)
"I have had it with these headcraaaabsss....!"
Freeman's mind reference!!
Timestamp?
Awesome! Will you please tell us when the next episode will come out when you will know?
He forgot the secret to get into the room with the scientist
3:40 actualy he knows a guy who colects skulls
@Lizard Wizard... I sense a predator reference?
"Drops people down elevator shafts and collects skulls"
That was a funny reference to 'Freemand's Mind
Nice FPS acting. It looked like Shepard was shaking while going over the giant fanblades. lol
Your voice really suits him, as weird as this sounds. The beginning had me laughing. Keep it up.
0:00-0:13 rofl :D
An evil scientist who drops people down elevator shafts, nice Freeman's mind reference :D
I wonder, from 1:20... never mind. But I do remember the training course, the drill sergeant did say that Adrian's PCV does work with HEV recharge units (and some commercial power panels, and the PCV recharge boxes).
"Am i on a rooftop panel??" *falls down right after asking that* "I Guess that answers that question"
i love how you refrence freeman's mind just like in barney's mind.
The part when Shepard thinks about what Freeman is like: Droping people from elevator shafts, collecting skulls, and being a mad scientist =)
using the motion slider in the place with the taking off osprey is a very fun DJ type thing to do with the action song.
"Wouldn't want the aliens to get sick!!!" xD
"He's probably some mad scientist who drops people down elevator shafts and collects human skulls"
awsome that the scientist actualy looks at the ceiling, allmost like he is rolling his eyes.
that reference you made to Freeman made you a king
2:58 "Who?" lol
Shepherd: Gotta take a piss.
Scientist :GEULCH MY GOODNESS!!! 8O
Shepherd: uh ... sorry.
Dr. Spy ITS A SHEPHARD !!!!!
Great follow up into the episode.
Probably the best cold open of a mindclone.
"i bet he's like an evil scientist who drops people down elevator shafts and collects human skulls..." HAHA genius man especially since freeman actually does that in freemans mind.
Those techniques are only really effective against human opponents. Plus, Shephard's training got changed, remember?
That was definitely the best part so far. You're getting better man ;) Also its nice u try doing a bit more voiceacting in this one. Keep up the good work.
"My Goodness :O"
i cracked when he sayd "he's probaly a evil scientist that drops people down by elevator's shafts"
"can't be that hard...AAAHAHHAHAHAHAA DIIIIIIEE DIIIEEE..JUST DIEE.....*thump* HOLY SHIT THIS THING HAS A CRAZY FUCKING RECOIL!"
Almost pissed myself laughing there. Genius
"the phone dead" best line i heard
when you said goobye to Otis... that was a nice moment ^^
"Who is this Freeman Guy they talking about anyway?, I bet he's some kind of evil scientist that push people out of elevator shafts..... I see what you did there!
Fantastic work, man. Keep it going.
The phone's dead...
ROFL! Man. Love it!
anyone else ever wonder how the suit charge stations work? it looks like they have a nozzle like a gas pump, i can see that working for the hev, but i'm at a loss for how it works on the pcv
3:35
i love the freemans mind reference!
dude, thats the best opening ever
funniest and best shepards mind ever.
Shepard fucking loses it and punches aliens to death.
Man this is good stuff, barney's mind wasn't as good as freeman's mind but this is. Nice job man.
I bet he's some evil scientist who drops people down elevator shafts, or collects human skulls. Nah, he's probobly just a nerd.
EPIC LOL!!
7:26 above a certain voltage, no. although Titanium, certain alloys of Stainless Steel and Kanthal (FeCrAl) are quite good at it. i know im talking to a imagining of a vido game character but thought others might be interested
"I swear to God if i see that suit guy again i'm gonna take that smug little brief case of his and shove it so far up his ass he'll have to open his mouth to scan his ID." XDD freaking love it!
I miss these. :)
Excellent opening!
The phones dead. XD Best line ever.
Shephard: the phones dead.
Scientis: 👁️ O 👁️
this is the the best one other than freemans mind of course
black mesa rly is crazy place, i mean, theres WEAPON reaserch at the lambda complex, crazy hazard suits that NO ONE needs if the invasion never started.
its probably the place where you can the closest to hell without being dead.
how did i miss this episode?
Best episode so far
lol "Collect human skull." remember freeman's mind?"Hey, a human skull, that would go in my collection."
great ep I LMAO.
But how did u do the kunf-fu thing.
that was cool xD
5/5
@weldonwin There is MCMAP, but in the Boot Camp level you never see Shephard get trained for any of that. In fact, all he gets trained for is primarily long-range stuff.
Man, u're getting better and better at this thing.
It was so funny i spit on my monitor laughing ! Hmm, this might catch on as chat slang: SOMML (spit on my monitor laughing) with an icon like this :D - - []
"the phone is dead..." XD ure sick man, but sick in a good way.
"The phone's dead!"
Hilarious.
