    Beautiful.
    I like a little rustic look to my stitching.
    There is a place for perfect stitching in textile restoration and the like but we love our stitching looking a bit Bohemian - not made by a machine.
    My dear Annie, thank you for making our world and my life gentler, happier more beautiful.
    I love you to bits ^•,•^

      Ah thank you very much Kelli, what a lovely comment! Yes absolutely, I'm in awe of the expertise of "proper" embroiderers, and the work involved in restoration and conservation, would have loved to do that for a living in fact, but for me this form of hand-stitching is more relaxing and forgiving and I really do love the look of it. It makes me even happier if I can turn it into something useful as well. So happy you like it :)

    These will be great fun! I think I will do some for the grandkids to store their markers, crayons, scissors, etc. If they like them or like making them, maybe we'll do some for my daughter's classroom. I think that I will use some of our dog food cans as a base. Have a great week & take care.

      Ah you should read the old stories Isobel - not the Disney film version, the old books are just so charming, there's a nostalgic innocence about them, but also lots of really subtly funny moments (more for the adult who is reading, than the child who is listening I think! ) :)

    I’m loving this series of making things out of bazaar scraps! You are such ah an inspiration, thank you for sharing your creativity with us! Will you be making something out of the scraps you got from your Megan Crook/textile guru haul? I bought some packs and wondering what to do with all the different interesting fabrics! 😊

    • @artyfartyannie
      @artyfartyannie  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you Katia, that makes me so happy! Yes, I have a few plans for the Megan Crook scraps too - some of the shiny ones will be going in with Bazaar silks to start on my Millefiori-inspired project which I'll be starting this week, the T-shirt/knit type ones I will be patching together to make a simple-shape patchwork top, and the really fancy ones like fur and sequins and all those I hope to make into a couple of funky bags. Some pieces I've set aside to possibly make into a stuffed creature of some kind, stuffed with the tiniest scraps, and of course I have the strips I cut to finish my rag rug. I really should get started on at least one of those this week, so watch this space :)

    I gave my daughter a handmade kumihimo necklace of red, black, white, and green floss (with floss at 25 cents each from the thrift store) with a key charm dangle for her 30th birthday a week ago. She gave me the idea of making a bracelet from the remaining thread because I always over-estimate the lengths I'll need. The kumihimo went very fast and was finished last night. I will abandon it with a little 'It's Free, Unlike the People of Palestine' note stapled to it. I leave all my handmade junk journals at Little Free Libraries and the Senior Center, and lately, I have left approximately 17 with a Free Palestine theme. This bracelet (and more in the future) will be abandoned as well, along with the crocheted watermelon key chains and painted rocks I drop here and there. The point of all this rambling is that almost all my crafts are made from thrift store finds, what other people consider trash, recycled books, etc. Did I mention that I use a round loom made from cardboard for the kumihimo? I love your vid because it does indeed make something useful.

      That's such a lovely thing to do Rachel, brightening someone's day and giving you a reason to enjoy your crafting and share the joy, and making something new and beautiful out of something old and unwanted - definitely a win/win situation. Now you've made me want to try kumihimo and I've just looked up how to make a cardboard loom - it's on the list, watch this space :)

      @artyfartyannie  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, yes they definitely deliver to US, but you can't order directly on the website, the system won't let you. What you need to do is email them with what you would like, then they will quote you for postage and if you confirm they will send you a paypal invoice. I sometimes explain it in my videos but didn't this time sorry. I also didn't mention that if you put "Arty Farty Annie Treat" in the note-to-seller bit at checkout, they'll pop a little extra doodad in with your order :)

      Same thing Susan, I know at least a couple of people who have successfully ordered from Canada and been very happy with their packs - just email them what you want to order and they will get back to you, they're really friendly and helpful. They're a small company, so you may have to wait a couple of days for a reply if they have a show going on, but they will soon sort it out for you. I usually say all of this when I mention Bazaar, but I was afraid I was repeating myself too much so I didn't this time! :)
