@@FortWhenTeaThyme I think it's because it was game 1. Mango of course knows Fox, but you have to get used to the player you are playing. Once he got used to Ludwig's patterns, the rest was easy.

His reflector is not that good, all it does is block projectiles and hit people next to you. You can jump out of it though

His Bowser ain't bad actually, it would be improved by using Koopa klaw more, and playing a bit safer. That being said Bowser is a very hard character for top players because he plays so radically different than all the other characters

@@gilbertvidaurri5195 almost a million a year? Where are you getting that number from? I know he makes at least 300,000 or so from twitch subs a year(which is amazing money obviously), I'm just curious where you're getting the rest from.
@@Vomer0 they are probably just estimating. Mang0 probably makes 350k or somewhere in that ballpark from twitch (donos+subs), probably like 20k per year in prize money (not counting the 50k he just won), probably close to twitch salary in C9 salary because he moves a metric ass ton of merch (or so Jack says), probably at least 50k in his portfolio earnings (he's talked about having a financial advisor before, and I would imagine his portfolio is decent), C9 merch royalty portion is probably a decent chunk (I have no hard estimate for this), and youtube + other miscellaneous streams are probably a solid amount combined as well. I think 700-800k is a decent estimate.
Disclaimer in that this is all off the top of my head, so could be way, way off. If mang has said on stream that he clocks just under a mill though, I'd be inclined to believe him.
Fighting games dont really pull that much money; so for Mang0, winning the 50'000 is more like you or I getting our tax returns. Man pulls fat stacks. The win is probably more about status and emotional reward than the prize pool

@@ianprado1488 The most recent top player with a seriously good Bowser to match them being a top player got cancelled. There's a couple good players that pop up here and there that are trying to seriously push Bowser, but you always fall into the same problems for low tier mains. They have to have insane tech skill, ridiculous tricks, and sometimes the top pro esque understanding of the game but the character is just such a bottleneck that it prevents these good players from being in conversations about notable/top players outside of "who is a good X main". For the most part, the best "low tier/mid-low tier" is almost always a top pro's alt and the best "low tier/mid-low tier main" is just some guy in a discord being a maniac glutton for punishment.

I don’t believe that’s true for a second. Frame data doesn’t lie my guy, and Mang0 was playing very unoptimally as bowser.
I think it’s especially ridiculous to make that claim when I could choose Sheik and chaingrab. Mang0 is an amazing player, but he’s not god and he can’t change how the game works.
