There is a link to a copy of a working Apache Directory with configuration detailed in this tutorial. You should be able to copy and paste that into your version of XAMPP - v7.4.7
What you have done after all of this, is something that my XAMPP was doing by default. I wanted a green lock icon to appear when I load localhost. I would say, waste of time.
Appreciate any feedback if anyone has tired to follow this guide - were you able to get what you need? Is there anything I can change to make it easier/quicker/more suited to your needs?
I really appreciate your step by step. I looking to actually host my own web-site but I am having the hardest time configuring the ssl and cert. I now have a better understanding of how it works. Thanks.
lovely video but i didn't get the last part. and it doesn't seem to work for me. apache wont restart immediately i include the codes in vhost DocumentRoot "C:/xampp/htdocs/" ServerName localhost SSLEngine on SSLCertificateFile "conf/ssl.crt/server.crt" SSLCertificateKeyFile "conf/ssl.key/server.key"
Good afternoon sir please with this configuration am I free to used paystack payment on my local Host without installing any ssl certificate again?? Thank you sir
@@veryacademy I was with them for a minute, but then I figured out something that you didn't mention. When I was asked for a passphrase I tried nothing and then I tried something with special characters and I kept getting a series of errors. After doing a bunch of other sh!t (including moving the original cert files) I tried the passphrase of "1234" and the prompts proceeded just like yours and my SSL worked. Could be all a coincidence but thanks again for your guidance!😅
@@veryacademy searching chrome settings for allow insecure localhost doesn't find me anything. So after everything i get stuck that my chrom doesn't accept certificate. I have tried with both selfsigned cert and acctually bought one and both don't work. Chrome always says that certification is invalid.

Hi Maria - that is a strange problem. When you say your certificate - have you purchased a certificate?
