It’s crazy to me that Ariana constantly references the impact her mother's divorce has had on her, but shows no empathy or class after wrecking a marriage (and yes, she did wreck that marriage, she had met Lily, it’s not like she didn’t know Ethan was married with a child).
I suppose that’s how unhealed trauma can show up. I’m not saying that it’s easy to work through, but work must be done regardless.
Man, the amount of people giving different timelines or debunking I don’t know what to believe. It’s feeling like speculation and personal biases.
I can’t really judge if both their marriages were dead in the water and were friends before and decided to date after. Of course, it is a mess if there was an overlap or some kind of sordid affair or emotional infidelity happened.
It wasn’t meant to be either or, if all it took was so little for it to crumble. Very, very little to shake this supposed everlasting love in each of their marriages.
Seemed they were disengaged and complacent from the jump. Covid lockdown really rattled a lot of couples, huh?
Edit: I know Ethan and his wife were hs sweethearts, I never said they got together in Covid, only that covid resulted in many long and short term relationships to disintegrate.
To be a home wrecker is very intentional and insidious. To drop seeds of doubt in someone and phase them out of their families lives. To proposition intimacy while they are very much still in a committed relationship. I can’t in good conscience claim that happened because I’m not a fly on the wall. I can speculate, but can’t confirm.
There are a hundred variations on how the failure of both their relationships came about and how their new one started up.
I can assume their friendship was too close for comfort or a plethora of things, but I can’t confidently assume an overlap.
@@surette2012 there is a 1 version of a timeline, the rest is PR mess. Its clear Lilly thought everything is ok at least up until June 1st so you can easily reject the separation narration and if you do so, there is no "unclear" stuff anymore because separation was something they came up with quickly to minimaze the backlash. + Lilly and Ethan were not a covid relationship and they lasted until the filming, the covid thing can only apply to Ariana. The kid wasnt even 1 yo so for how they could have been separated? Again, the timeline is only unclear to you because of an attempt of damage control and it was clearly enough to gaslight some people. And i dont think that a chance to date an a list pretty singer is "very little" to shake the relationship, especially when you are away from your partner and your relationship is old, every strong chemichal love wears off after 3-4 years. For Ethan it gave him so many press opportunities and looking at the videos where cameras caught him, he really enjoys the attention. Its not the first celebrity affair that began at work.
Maybe she has a deep fear of becoming her mom. If she's the mistress than she's not the one being left.

Only mentioned that a lot of couples (long and short term) seem to have suffered from the close proximity and isolation from covid and a lot of breakups and domestic abuses statistics had actually risen up in that window of time.
I’m sorry, but I don’t care if the biggest star or my dream man who was built in a lab showed up to my door. If I was really in love with my current partner it wouldn’t shake me from my loyalty. Love is a choice for people. They choose to love despite how hard it can be at times, or when those honeymoon feelings fade. The reasons to hold on are built on trust and friendship, as well.
Love thrives when your partner needs your affection as much as you need theirs. You simply aren’t in love if being in proximity to someone flashier made it fall apart. It really is a small thing because it is. It’s only considered a big thing if you choose to see value only in fame, status or whatever in love matches. Ethan chose to see Ariana’s presence as more valuable than his partners. *allegedly*
Falling out out of love with your partner isn’t just a watershed moment where you are presented with bait or an excuse to stray.
I’m just saying that it’s likely both were over it and both relationships were already experiencing a death rattle. It sucks if their partners were truly blindsided and thought things were great and would’ve stayed great, but then their lives would’ve been pretty lies if that happened. if they think they’d still be happily married if these new people didn’t come in their lives I think it’s pretty deflective and naive.
I say it’s a dodged bullet that it ended instead of them spending their lifetimes in such a shaky relationship.
Complacency and fear keeps a lot of people together when it clearly has overstayed it’s welcome. I wish the concept of eternal love was simple, but it’s not. I salute anyone still passionately in love and on their 50th wedding anniversary, but it’s not exactly a common occurrence.
I honestly don’t care of Ariana and SpongeBob last or not. This could just be a rebound thing where they’re licking each others wounds because it is pretty humiliating to have a public divorce or failed relationship. Even more humiliating to be painted loser cheaters. They could break up next month for all I care.
My only point is that both their marriages failed likely far before any straying. It’s why people stray in the first place? They are unfulfilled or out of love in their current relationship. It sucks, they should’ve been more communicative with their partners, and they are responsible for any distress they’ve given their exes, but that’s where we’ve landed.

Recently there was a blind item i believe about her telling ethan to go home while she stayed partying, also we know separation is a bias because - as i said under one of the shorts - someone screenshoted Lilly's pv FB with her post on ethans birhday, saying how much she misses him and how long they have been together, ending "Love you, Short" and it was on June 1st 2023 so just LESS THAN A MONTH before Ariana spent her private birthday with Ethan and thats on "they were separated for months". And Dalton literally visited her the weekend before her birthday. We dont even need tabloids, they gave us evidence themselves

The song "I wish I hated you" is kind of like a contradiction to the first half of the album. I feel like the first few songs are just for damage control. Like trying to make herself the victim. But the real truth is that Dalton probably didn't hurt Ariana as much as her fans try to make it seem. Maybe the real truth is that she didn't really hate Dalton but she also didn't want to be with him because she's head over heels for Ethan.

Regardless of the type of person she is, I knew I would listen to her new album because she is, thankfully, a great singer and a skilled songwriter. It kinda baffles me that she was so honest here, to me she basically confirmed the affair rumours. The song I like the most is "i wish i hated you", because it really feels like she's being honest here, just like with "ghostin" (another song I love). It's understandable that she might never sing it live. Being that vulnerable in front of many people sounds like a horrible experience.
I love the album and I didn‘t expect to like it tbh. What I don’t like is how easily she can rewrite the narrative, especially for her hardcore stans. I still stand by: if there was anything more to this story, especially something redeeming for her WE WOULD KNOW IT BY NOW. Ariana is a fantastic singer and I saw her live during her Dangerous Woman era. Sweetner is still my favorite album because her album came out right when I was dealing with anxiety and a rough breakup so her album was comforting. I give her my props and appreciate her songwriting and singing abilities, however, the only song I really do like on this album is bye. The rest of her songs while she sounds great, I just feel like she's trying to gaslight the public into liking her again and I don't appreciate how she expects us to love her again when she takes no accountability for her problematic behaviors. I hate cheaters so this situation has really turned me off permanently from her and eternal sunshine didn't help either. I hate it cause I use to love her, now I can't vibe with her.
She holds herself accountable and has a lot of guilt , but at the same time, she tries to portray this behavior as a "sassy bad bitch" which is ofc her brand if you listen to this album carefully and some of her vulnerable songs u will realise that self hatred side of hers .

the original true story was pretty different and (i think) about dalton or some other guy. it was recorded 2021-2022 and the lyrics had “boy this is not what i need” vs “no this is not what i need” and the verse is completely different. however it could be this was just written for the seth mcfarlane show like fantasize was since they were recorded in the same session!

Here’s my thing, I absolutely love Eternal Sunshine. I feel every lyric of this album, it just came to me at the right time. However, I do think the narrative being spread with Ari’s story though the album is a bit sketchy…I love her but the math ain’t mathin’.

I don't think that line (Now, she's in my bed, layin' on your chest) necessarily means that Dalton cheated on her, especially seeing how she flips it the next time she sings it saying, "Now, he's in your bed, layin' on my chest." There can be a process to breaking up, especially when it comes to divorce. I'm not saying anything is or isn't true, but I also don't think there's enough information to assume that's what she meant. She left it kinda ambiguous for a reason.

In the real world, people do get divorced very often. Celebrities aren't an exception to that.

And this isn’t necessarily her public persona when it is a reflection of her private actions. To an extent, she IS awful because she made a choice to pursue the man despite his being married with a child, for the sake of her own happiness. She wasn’t clueless.
However, she doesn’t always have to be awful if she ever decides to break the pattern of pursuing taken men, learns to value herself and respect the relationships of other women. Seems like a longshot for her, tbh.

The guy (Ethan?) must not have been happy with his former wife, and the same goes for Arianas recent relationship. So they are two grown ups in unhappy marriages who met each other and fell in love. Happens all the time, even with celebrities.
