That is a real book King Boomer , you can also get an audio version of it. I was on holiday in Thailand and took the book with me. It was that funny that rather then go out and get drunk I actually stayed my hotel room reading it till i finished it. Then I went out and got pissed as a fart. Its well worth a read or listen to if you prerfer audio.
He's also written (with his writing team) 'Nomad' and 'Big Beacon'. Big Beacon involves a graphic sex scene, which is...I don't want to say disturbing but it's in there, it's 'creatively written' and goes on for quite a while. Try not to have a load of hot coffee in your mouth when you reach this part.
I think he's mentioned before that he can't get into audio books and prefers the actual physical act of holding a book and turning pages. But the audiobook is wonderful.
Ross first helped to break Coogan onto telly in 1993 on his "Saturday Zoo" variety/chat show where Coogan appeared first as Paul (and later Pauline) Calf.
"I, Partridge (we need to talk about Alan)" is a real book (written by Coogan as Alan) and is an 'autobiography' of Alan's life. Hilarious to read and even funnier listeniing to the audiobook which Alan narrates.
I would highly recommend listening to the audiobook of 'I Partridge', it's available on Spotify and is read by Steve Coogan in character as Alan Partridge.
It's a real book and it's flippin' hilarious. I remember reading it on the bus too and from work and trying not to embarrass myself by laughing out loud.
@9:50 Reminds me of Foamy The Squirrel talking about "used" stuff. "Calling a used car pre-owned, is like saying pre-fcuked instead of divorced" - Foamy the Squrrel
It was so good that I’d be tempted to give *him* the Bostik salesforce ‘Get Motivated’ weekend gig… or just invite him to the Ideal Homes Exhibition in Earl’s Court
This was rehearsed for sure. But I have seen Steve Coogan live. And when he gets heckled, he heckles back in the character that he’s portraying at the time. Genius!
Was lucky enough to see Alan live a couple of years ago on his 'Strategm' tour. It's amazing how he just loses himself in the character and can react on the fly.
Yay! Thanks for watching KB, glad you enjoyed it. Good thing you didn't take that drink of water just as he said "hymen-free", you might've sprayed it all over your desk!
The cars mentioned are specific as he's interested in them. He spoke to Clarkson about the importance of him driving the right car to capture the rights times (for example think company reps pounding the motorway and being the sort of people who can be found at 2am in garages... who can't quite afford the top car offer from work but have chose the right spec below).
All three of the Partridge books are pure gold, but my fave is "nomad", I would recommend tracking down a copy if you can (the ebook or audiobook versions are probably easier to find state-side)
Yes the book is real; "I Partridge - We Have to Talk About Alan" is one of 3 amazingly funny books. The audio books are narrated by Alan himself & all are hilarious
There’s two ways you can look at the Star Wars joke. Alan saying the first three films (4, 5, 6) aren’t as good as the ones Ewan was in (1, 2, 3). Alan said the first three Star Wars films (1, 2, 3) are nowhere near as good as the ones Ewan was in. Ewan was in those films.
Lee Evan’s did a couple on Jonathan Ross which are funny and that’s pre rehearsed so if you think this is is watch that because it’s like lee doing his own little show while trying to be interviewed lol. And you’ve not seen lee apart from his standup
Once you’ve caught up on Mid Morning Matters and Scissored Isle, listen to the I, Partridge and Nomad audiobooks. Once you’ve watched This Time you can listen ti Big Beacon. There’s also the ‘podcast’ on Audible - the Oasthouse - there’s 3 series of that and it’s done if the best Patridge for me. And you’re better listening to those after you’ve watched This Time and before Big Beacon.
Watch all the time and don’t recommend enough for you because you probably get it all the time. But I would love a reaction to the mighty boosh. It’s weird as heck😂
Crash, bang, wallop - what a reaction video.
🏆
FANTASTIC ALAN PARTRIDGE VOICE!!!! OH mighty King Boomer.

Instead of going out, you stayed in and read a book?! That’s SAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaDDDDDD 😅
@@greglynch391 Well I did go out later and have a ladyboy chaser
@@BryanPartington 🤣🤣

I, Partridge is possibly the single greatest piece of Alan content. The book and the audio.
Your impression of Alan Partridge was bang on, to be fair.
"I, Partridge (we need to talk about Alan)" is a real book (written by Coogan as Alan) and is an 'autobiography' of Alan's life. Hilarious to read and even funnier listeniing to the audiobook which Alan narrates.
Also "nomad" is a cracking hoot
The books are mostly written by the Gibbons
There was also a third “Big Beacon” which is great also.
as a Brit I was very pleasantly surprised by how good your Alan Partridge impression was. pretty much spot on!
I was about to say that was pretty close! 1:40
Seriously though, it was textbook.
@@richgill5924😂😅
“Hymen free for the best part of six years”. Genius.
That was a pretty good impression!!
You need to watch The Trip with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon
13:06 Ben Fogle is basically a poundshop version of Prince William
That subscription thing happened to me too. Thanks for highlighting it. The I, Partridge book is genuinely my favourite book.
“I’m chuffed to buggery” 😂❤
I would highly recommend listening to the audiobook of 'I Partridge', it's available on Spotify and is read by Steve Coogan in character as Alan Partridge.
Wow!!! - Your Partridge impression was pretty good - from a UK Alan fan.
It's a real book and it's flippin' hilarious. I remember reading it on the bus too and from work and trying not to embarrass myself by laughing out loud.
That was actually a really good impression!
Apparently Bill Oddie was chuffing livid about not making it onto Alan’s friend list.
@9:50 Reminds me of Foamy The Squirrel talking about "used" stuff. "Calling a used car pre-owned, is like saying pre-fcuked instead of divorced" - Foamy the Squrrel
That impression was bang on 😆
He is a legend ,just awesome 👌 😅 ,I can't even ...
One of the best 👌 😅
That was a great impression! 9/10
It was so good that I’d be tempted to give *him* the Bostik salesforce ‘Get Motivated’ weekend gig… or just invite him to the Ideal Homes Exhibition in Earl’s Court
Alan has brought out at least 3 books I know of. Also, the Oasthouse' podcasts on Audible are amazing!
Johnathan and Steve go way back, he used to have him on a show in the nineties.
laughed out loud at this twice, and I've already seen it before. Great to see your reaction
The book is awesome, and the audiobook narrated by him is 6 hours well spent. It's first class, it is superb!!
You need your watch the full stand up shows of Steve’s where he does loads of his characters, including Alan
great clip thanks
8:36 ooohhh bad move! Risking a drink whenever Alan’s talking 😂😂 I’d’ve probably gobbled that all over the keyboard lol
Watch the trip series. It’s basically a vehicle for their impressions, but it’s so good
The Best piece of Partridge is the 20 min video of his 1999 performance for Comic Relief. Its a comedy masterclass
His books are real. Type 'Alan Partridge Audiobooks' into this here TH-cam thing. Prepare to be amazed.
Ewan McGregor famously 'rode round the World' twice for charity with his mate Charley Boorman (son of the director)
This was rehearsed for sure. But I have seen Steve Coogan live. And when he gets heckled, he heckles back in the character that he’s portraying at the time. Genius!
The audiobook is highly recommended, it's so good.
Worth also pointing out, the audiobook is narrated by Steve Coogan, in character throughout. Bloody genius and definitely worth a listen 😂😂❤❤
Was lucky enough to see Alan live a couple of years ago on his 'Strategm' tour. It's amazing how he just loses himself in the character and can react on the fly.
Alan partridge is the greatest British comedy of all time
Agreed😂
Yay! Thanks for watching KB, glad you enjoyed it. Good thing you didn't take that drink of water just as he said "hymen-free", you might've sprayed it all over your desk!
Hymen free for 6 years 😂😂😂
The cars mentioned are specific as he's interested in them. He spoke to Clarkson about the importance of him driving the right car to capture the rights times (for example think company reps pounding the motorway and being the sort of people who can be found at 2am in garages... who can't quite afford the top car offer from work but have chose the right spec below).
coogan does loads of stage shows as partridge.. for hours on end..bet playing partridge is second nature to him
The books are the best thing he’s done. Even better are the audio book versions read by non other than Alan Partridge himself
12:15 love the long awkward stare after that one 😂😂
Boomer, you're getting so much of an intelligent humour, it's really wonderful. Cheers mate.
I reckon some of it was rehearsed and some of it was improvised
Steve Coogan is a genius.
Best book ever probably
the irony is, that bike jump shit seems like something that would actually be on 'knowing me knowing you'
I got that book for Christmas a few years ago
As a couple of others have said, actually a pretty decent Alan impersonation. Looks like you get a thumbs up this time.
2:50 he looks like a statue or a flipping cardboard cutout or something, he barely moved! 😂😂
There are now two legitimately available "autobiographies" from Alan and for Audible are also read by him
Is there a place I could submit video ideas?
A real book!! And his amazing 'podcast' is also available on audible..
His books are bellyachingly funny, really brilliant ❤
All three of the Partridge books are pure gold, but my fave is "nomad", I would recommend tracking down a copy if you can (the ebook or audiobook versions are probably easier to find state-side)
Yes the book is real; "I Partridge - We Have to Talk About Alan" is one of 3 amazingly funny books. The audio books are narrated by Alan himself & all are hilarious
Was NOT rehearsed JR admits he was nervous that what Alan would say would cancel his show!!😢😢😂😂❤
When Coogan invented Alan Partridge he brought us a truely great character 😂 The man was total nuts
DAN! DAN! DAN! DAAAAAN! DAN!
So good..😂
You need to react to the 90’s Alan partridge series
Please 🙏 react to THE TRIP with Steve Coogan & Rob Brydon, and GONE FISHING with Bob Mortiner and Paul Whitehouse. Both are amazing.
I, Partridge is the funniest book I've ever read
SEE STEVE COOGAN IN A CRAZY MOVIE "TRISTRAM SHANTY" "A book impossible to make into a film!" 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
16:00 yeah it didn’t look like he had enough of a run up to it
It’s a really good book. Easily some of the best Partridge, especially the audiobook read by Coogan in character.
I, Partridge audiobook is on TH-cam
As with any talk show, they planned a lot of what they talked about, but I would say that at least some of it was off the cuff from Alan.
Stop getting Bond wrong!!!!
Real book indeed, there are a few. There are audiobook versions of it n TH-cam. Read by Alan himself.
Hey boomer tou should review "This Time " with Alan Partridge. Classic.
Worth tracking down the audiobook of I, Partridge - it's up there with the sharpest Partridge content there's been.
You must download the audio version of the book. He narrates it himself. It’s hilarious. Treat yourself 😊.
anyone who think the episodes 1-3 are better than the OG trio are, in Partidge's own terminology - a mentalist
Boomer, your laugh is insane man 😂😂😂
Avarrrrriciously
Mate why have I not seen you do a Paul Calf reaction?
Check out the Jimmy Savile "prank call" to BBC Radio Ulster, it's hilarious.
That book by the way was very funny
Man you really need to get the audiobooks of both his books, him reading it adds shitloads more layers of humour.
And the Oasthouse podcasts
Watch him interviewing Roger Daltrey
Great 😂 🥂🙌
The books are real and he even does them in audiobook form in character
Iv been watching you're friday night dinner reactions, loving them. But i noticed you stopped during series 5, why? :(
Alan Partridge's Scissored Isle next please 🙏
Your Alan impression was actually pretty impressive! 1:40
Lee Evan’s did a couple on Jonathan Ross which are funny and that’s pre rehearsed so if you think this is is watch that because it’s like lee doing his own little show while trying to be interviewed lol. And you’ve not seen lee apart from his standup

it is a real book i have it :)
Your 'Alan' wasn't half bad!! Well done!
Watch all the time and don’t recommend enough for you because you probably get it all the time. But I would love a reaction to the mighty boosh. It’s weird as heck😂
The questions may have been staged but Alan Partridge's answers are purely off the cuff and unrehearsed, Steve Coogan's brilliance.
Partridge is genius
YOU AND QUEEN BOOMER SHOULD WATCH THE MOVIE, "THE IMPOSSIBLE" WITH EWAN McGREGOR AND NAOMI WATTS.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
The fact that this is completely unscripted makes it so impressive. A look into the mind of Steve Coogan.
Needless to say he had the last laugh
