Great show but I never watched it in the earlier seasons as I worked on it for 7 or 8 years, so why watch when I was there when it was fimed? Cast and crew were the best folks I could have wanted to work with in my 35 years in the business. Murdoch makes me miss working these days. A new season begins shooting in May.
Ps personally I have never seen Hartland,,I have heard of it,,,,,,,iv watched Murdock,,all seasons up to 15 sofar may times ,can't wait for 16 17 and so on ,,,
Greetings from the US of A. And thanks for a truly fascinating view of details that I would never have known. One issue for me is the pronunciation of the name Toronto. In the earlier years of the show, I gather the actors had to struggle to make sure they pronounced the final "t" in the name and that the "o" had a pure sound. In Season 16,, they seem to be approaching a more modern pronunciation where the final "t" disappears and the final sound is similar to a schwa. Is there any record of this shift in pronunciation? [BTW, the city of Sacramento has the same final sound in English as today's Toronto but Spanish speakers clearly enunciate all of the sounds.]
I'm not sure it was intentional to not pronounce the Ts this season. I had a small part in one of the episodes - and saying the old version of Toronto is oddly difficult for us locals!
@@OldTorontoSeries It's difficult for me and I'm a Usonian. That's why it was so striking to hear it in the earlier seasons. I'm guessing it's still the natural way for the British actor - who's playing a Brit - but I'm not sure how easy it has been for the Aussi who's playing a Canadian.
I like to watch each episode twice. The first time for the story, the second time for the set details. Never boring, either time.
Thank you so very much. Smiles.
The accuracy of historical details are just one of the things I love about the show. Thanks for a great presentation.
thanks!
I was born on Lombard Street, Buffalo, N.Y. - Great video! Thanks kindly.
Well as usual, your productions are awesome. Incredible research well presented.
BTW..you were terrific in the episode!
Thank you kindly!

Little fun fact: my grandmother (who died in 2014) was born close to the same time as Susannah Murdoch in St. Joseph, Missouri.

As a Torontonian, I was once sternly corrected by a South American on how we say Cuba(Q-ba) "No! No! It's Cu-ba!"
