- NEW model 2022 with 999 memories! Very nice radio, rated 10W, but - of course - only puts out about 7.3W. USB C charging. This radio is also available for GMRS, and also marketed as the TP-8Plus!

I like the USB-C, thats why I bought the S9 for the car, cheap emergency radio. I like the colour and looks of that. Good real power output!... very surprising. lol

Do the menus voice similarly to the UV5R? What about direct keypad entry of menus and menu settings as on the UV5R?

Yes you can talk gmrs on it

@@JOHN27398 Still the same , i suppose de new FCC rules don`t allow to unlock the frecuencies , 999 channel was a good feature but useless without TX . if i found a way to unlock it i came back to this coment . ☹

You don't have to use/display dual channels. So there's that.

Australian UHF CB channels, yes. 27MHz CB, no.
Unfortunately no!
This is the same voice that Wouxun uses on their radios. Baofeng used it when they first came on the scene back in 2012, I think, then Baofeng changed to using recorded voice prompts made by Neospeech Kate, a pretty decent TTS engine.

what about the power level on the v2 is it low mid high or only low high

HOW TO SWITCH TO CHANNEL MODE FROM FREQUANCY MODE
Is the power level the only difference between V1 and V2 ?
I have not found any other difference. V2 is rated at 10W but really only comes in at about 7.4W, V1 only does about 4.7W at best.
Hello, im put my Baofeng UV 13 pro V2 to the output power test with SURECOM SW102 at 400,000 mhz the output power is almost 10W, I measured 9.36W at my place, and at the frequency of 171,000 mhz 9.07W output power, I'm really interested in what you are trying to test the said radio Did I come across a good copy or is it really the V2 series almost 10W as they wrote in the description of the device, otherwise I follow your channel, you have praise from me, keep it up, greetings from Croatia!
Thank you for your kind words! Yes the V2 is rated at 10w but they usually do about 7.8w or so. You may be lucky and have one that hets you almost the full 10w!!

I just got this radio today. The instructions are very small print. How do you manually type in the frequency. Also will it scan all frequencies?
If you're in VFO mode, just type it in.

Yes absolutely!! In sync mode, it shows you channel (saved) name, and frequency as well as memory channel number. I love this radio!

So what's the difference between the GMRS and the non-GMRS? it allows GMRS transmission but with less power? Are those sold on Aliexpress has no such GMRS ban bullshxt? thanks
