I was originally going to make this video during late March 2020 although I made a lot of ident histories on ITV affiliates during that time. It's been nearly seven months since I last did a video on an ITV franchisee (Southern/TVS/Meridian on 10th March 2020) and I decided this would be the right time to make this video. Grampian Television is one of my favourite ITV franchisees since they have a great collection of idents and they are now known as STV North. Based in Aberdeen, this was founded as the ITV franchisee for the North of Scotland in 1960. Sir Ivonne Kirkpatrick
announced the launch of the network on 30th September 1961, and the Grampian name stopped being used on 30th May 2006. My next ident (logo) history video will be on Tyne Tees Television.
