A mural by Paula Bonet welcomes at the Institute for Integrative Systems Biology (I2SysBio)

The mural is in the lobby of the Institute for Integrative Systems Biology (I2SysBio), which is in the Science Park Foundation of the Universitat de València. This research centre depends on the Universitat de València and the CSIC (Spanish National Research Council).
Through the Petri dish that circles the figure of the scientist, Paula Bonet wants to represent "the social isolation suffered by women who have decided to devote themselves to the world of scientific research" and who find a lack of understanding on the part of all their social circles. According to the author, this is a small tribute to the thousands of anonymous women who carry out their work in hospitals, laboratories and research centres all over the world and who are not usually recognised as a fundamental part of the world of science.
