Your desert boho vibe in your office and downstairs was so well done and organic to you and the space! You are really glowing lately and it's beautiful! Ok...personal taste is exactly that and if you love it, that is all that matters. Personally (to me), I would live with it and evaluate the balance of your choices until it feels comfortable and consider a soft pastel rug or put the plain sisal back on its own. The one from downstairs seems to be fighting the vibe you are going for. I think your amazing but I once upon a time majored in Interior Design and try to give constructive feedback. I think you really value honesty...I hope I didn't offend you ❤️

I used contact paper from the opal house line at target to make a “headboard” for my bed and it’s my favorite thing ever. Just stuck it on the wall. Not on an actual headboard Big ass stickers instead of wallpaper? Yes please

Seems like they partner with individual artists for the designs, and do support small businesses financially, but they themselves don’t seem to qualify. Not sure why they’d be selling on Etsy at all as they have their own (pretty snazzy) website, unless it’s to appear as a small business when they’re not. Kind of shady if you ask me, and definitely don’t blame you for believing it!

Philip's has remote control color changing bulbs that you can put in any lamp. I have them and they're AMAZING!!! they're a lot like the string lights around the mirror but for any lamp or ceiling/wall light spot
you could place some faux ivy-esque around or by the hanging silk sheet, and maybe some wrinkle lights, and basically lean into a photoshoot backdrop vibe? also I think steaming it would take away the creases and making it look more drape-y and silky. also I would hang the disco ball by the curtains or somewhere in direct light so it can send pretty light into the room and onto the walls

And I love how much you’re shopping from small businesses, but as a small biz owner my two cents would be to shout out the businesss names directly, instead of saying “from Etsy” because that gets us actual name recognition and is much easier for people to connect with! 🥰

@@shannonnicole4046 yeah, that's why i mentioned laughing at yourself as a way to cope 😉 but for me it's about changing the public perception of ocd - it's currently this running joke about being anal, when it's not about that at all - it's the most intense, debilitating form of chronic anxiety. it just feels super hurtful for people like me, because it recalls all my years of intense suffering, and struggling to be taken seriously. literally trauma. there are trigger warnings for all kinds of things, yet ocd sufferers are not afforded the same respect. all i ever hear is jokes generally, that completely miss the point. it almost makes me cry to constantly be reminded that people don't understand how hurtful it is. it's easy to ridicule an illness that can have obvious silly looking symptoms, but they detract from what is actually going on underneath. you'd never know i have it, i don't have the classic physical symptoms, it's all in my head. the condition causes so much shame, that sometimes we don't seek help for decades..so feeling ridiculed doesn't help...i can joke about it because i understand the pain...but i'm not sure the public is there yet. i just want our pain taken seriously. thanks for understanding, please help me to get this condition and our suffering better understood ❤ (sorry for how long that was, i'm a terrible editor, u can see it hits a traumatic nerve haha, i don't mean to take it all out on you)
