    I'm going to uni pretty soon and I'm really scared. I'm not sure if I can go though with it. The course I'll be doing will be 4 years and looks really stressful. Wish me luck ,

    • @lafan2661
      @lafan2661  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good luck, hopefully it will be so much better than you expect. I've definitely enjoyed it so much and I hope you will too.

    Are you still living at bridge street exchange?
    P.s. I have booked a room there for 21/22. Thank you for showing the accommodation from inside 😃😄😄.

      Ayyy that's great to hear, I hope bridge street treats you well and hopefully Cardiff will as well. I finished my final year in 20/21 so unfortunately I won't be there. It was my pleasure being some sort of help.

    Planning to stay in the main campus like Talybont, I’m doing media is it still easy to get to form there. Can I get easy transport there ?

    • @lafan2661
      @lafan2661  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, Taly is quite far from the university building, it's about a 40 minute walk away! Taking the bus from there will be your fastest bet. I recommend the private accommodations that are near the city center like Bridge Street Exchange, Lumis and Zenith, I will say though they are on the pricier side.

    I'm thinking about going to Cardiff University and doing media and communications but i'm scared about not making friends or struggling to make friends :(

    • @lafan2661
      @lafan2661  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly Cardiff is filled with students and is a really friendly city and at the beginning it's really easy to find people that are similar to you. Also flatmates or the people you live with are a really easy way to get yourself a good group of friends at the beginning. I'm sure you'll make a lot of friends :)

    hey I really wanna study journalism and communications in Cardiff. Do you have any tips for my personal statement

    • @lafan2661
      @lafan2661  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, if you have any experiences during school or outside of school that involved elements of journalism, whether that be writing, reporting, researching etc, talk about those experiences and the passion they sparked in you to create your dive for wanting to study it.

    • @lafan2661
      @lafan2661  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      and naturally when talking about that passion link it to why it makes you a great addition to the uni :)

    how far away is the journalism building from the main building?

    • @lafan2661
      @lafan2661  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say a solid 25-35 minute walk

    Lafan, I've just applied for a postgrad in Journalism. I've been looking at university accommodation options and as youve mentioned, they are all pretty far away. Where are you based? Is it Liberty park? I need to know my options and rn i have no clue! many thanks!

    • @lafan2661
      @lafan2661  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's awesome, I hope you get in!!!! I am in bridge street exchange it's super convenient in terms of location to both JOMEC and the city center

    Would you say it’s a diverse uni, is
    there a good mix of minorities or is it reaallllyyy predominantly white?

    • @lafan2661
      @lafan2661  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In JOMEC I felt it was predominantly white, it wasn’t very ethnically diverse, that being said there were a good amount of international students too.

    How much does private accommodation costs? Is it cheaper than uni?

    • @lafan2661
      @lafan2661  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Private accommodation is usually more expensive to be honest but the location and quality of private accommodations is so worth it.

    Can an international student earn enough money for cover living expenses by doing part time jobs

    • @lafan2661
      @lafan2661  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On a tier 4 student visa you’re usually allowed 20 hours a week on term dates and 40 hours a week on holidays, so you wouldn't have the opportunity to make as much money as a local but I reckon you could cover living costs exclusively, not the accommodation rent included.

    You're studying the course I applied for! Love the video! How is the course?

    • @lafan2661
      @lafan2661  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad you enjoyed the video! The course is really awesome, the first year is a bit theoretical but what we learn is super interesting. 2nd year now is super fun, it's getting more practical and becoming more critical. I hope you get the place in Cardiff >.

      L A F A N THANKYOU! Just need to write my personal statement which is tricky haha. But can’t wait! (if I get in) looks like a good course & Cardiff is lush too 😍. Just worried about going to uni as I’m shy & not a big drinker 😅
