    Both of these motorcycles are in a "sweet spot" of good power and relatively light weight that I prefer. I am short and old enough that I would honestly prefer 7/8-sized versions of these. Sliding off the saddle to put a foot down is not much fun for me any more.
    Having been hit once by a truck and having a bunch of near misses, I am a firm believer of large and bright turn signals and lights. I want to be a visible as possible! "Clean looks" are not worth a trip to the hospital.
    Enjoy riding and stay safe!

    Whitney had a vid on YN (I think) where she mentioned how much riding helped her mental health and that was the catalyst that moved me from wanting a bike for the last 20 years to buying one and learning how to ride. I've been riding for a year now and I'm looking to upgrade to a bigger bike this year. Keep up the great work, love the stories that you bring to light.

    The late and largely unloved (with regard to sales & it being discontinued) Svartpilen 701 is such an underrated bike.
    It will be a great future classic for those who know.

    Hi Whitney, I watched YN videos for about a year, and when you and Spite left, I left with you. I watch both yours and Spite´s channels and I love that they let your personality shine and feel very personal and friendly if that makes sense? Anyway I really like that its not only about motorcycles, but you also reveal some stuff about you and your life/thoughts.

    haha, love these pirate stories. "just grabbed the bike and went". First time I rode one, I bought one in cambodia in the middle of the night from the sketchiest guy I met traveling (a old arab dude from Alberta.. he shower us it worked by riding it with me and my gf in the back, we almost crashed twice). I didn't even know how to drive standard cars. I got to my place on the second gear and took a day to figure it out and left toward Laos and VietNam with my girlfriend on the back seat.

    It's kind of odd, to me at any rate, that I am an older guy who rode mostly between 14 and 22 and now just getting back into it. Partly because due to an ugly divorce/custody situation for the last 20 years, I'm estranged (parental alienation) from my son. The urge to ride again is just super important to me. It's interesting what we all get from it. The 701 and the Scramber are great looking bikes. I'm looking to buy a Z900rs as soon as possible.
    BTW, Whitney, I just watched your worst beginner bike story and checking out your other stuff. Cheers.

    Kevin when were you looking to buy a sport 1000? Like what year approximately ? I only ask because ironically the bike had been canceled already by the time the movie came out, so typical Ducati basically making sure that demand for the bike outstripped supply if people liked it, and if people didn’t like it, they didn’t have to worry about the negative reaction. Hurting the bikes sales classic Italian manufacturer at least from those days

    My dad got hooked on heroin in veitnam, he lived a long life for a heroin addict,, and alcoholic.. prison probably helped with that. He got some that he didn't know had fentanol in it a few years ago, died with the needle in his arm. I have 2 memories of him, one is being so high he fell off his harley, the other one scared the hell out of me. Im just out here chasing ghost now, would've been nice to ride with him.

    Damn man 3 people messed with your bike like that and at least 2 were neighbors??? I’m sorry you had to go through that, it must be hard in the beginning especially knowing that you took the like of 3 people, 2 neighbors, for violating a sacred law of man, but also inevitably feeling guilty for it occasionally. Just always remind yourself….they started the interaction you just finished it. Some men spend their whole life training to become John wick and some men just buy their first bike and days later have to bust a few caps in some mf’ers for not knowing what time it was.

    Have you ever ridden around on the duke 390? I’m a returning Rider about 6 feet 209 pounds 30 inch inseam looking for a bike to rip around on on the outskirts of Houston. Wondering if I am too big or bike is too slow? Dealers I know of not really giving demos.

    • @Whitney_Does

      Returning after how long? We've got the Rc390 at YN and its pretty dang small

    • @ryanashley347
      @ryanashley347 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can jump in here and maybe help or at least offer my own experience. I own a 2021 Duke 390 which is the exact same bike as the 2022. I'm 6 feet tall exactly and 180 pounds. My height is just fine on this bike no problem there at all. This was my first bike ever and first time riding ever so it worked perfect for learning how to ride. After a few months though I was "getting bored-ish" but still learning. It is playful and fun if you're just ripping around town. This is not a highway bike IMO though. You rip through all 6 gears pretty quickly riding on the highway. I personally find that after 65mph on the bike it's not much fun to ride on the highway for me at my weight. The bike is very light (328lbs) and the contact patch, to me, gets "weird" at high speeds. So when you say to "rip around on the outskirts of Houston" if its at 45-65 mph than hell yah! It's torquee and fun doing that. On the main highways at higher speeds not so much.

    • @dry509
      @dry509 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ryanashley347 thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately I’m going to have to get on the highway at 65 mph speeds to get to some nearby country side riding otherwise it’s just in my neighborhood so now what? What is still fun and nimble yet goes on the highway?

      @@ryanashley347 Hello thanks for your response. And so what bike would you get next? Unfortunately I have to get on the freeway to get to the nearby countryside to rip around on. Otherwise it’s just ripping around my neighborhood so I will need something I can handle freeway speeds?
