When i was 15 & started carp fishing i used to fish a silty water with the thick black silt everywhere.
Now this was 20 odd years ago, i was using the richworth inlines with the infused anti tangle tubing amnesia hookling knotless knotted to a size 6 continental hookling & 2x 18mm boilies, basically i was using everything i shouldn't be using BUT I cause shed loads !
So I never worry about silt after that .

Like Frank, I've used these leads for many years, one of Armaleds best sellers if anyone remembers the company. Hard to get hold of now but worth it especially the 2 - 3 oz versions for short to medium range work👍👍👍

I've been looking at ways to fish lead clips in silt as I trust them a lot more than Helis, just bought some 2oz versions, reckon they'll do the trick?

Remember using the Fluted leads early 80s Frank they were a big help on silty waters we fished !!
But after using them a few times I found them really bad for line twist did you have any issues with line twist fella!!
