    Excellent demo. I think online migration we can access the database while migration is happening but at the time of cut over only you can not access that is called minimal down time. Online migration it will restore the log files until you select cut over.

      Yes. That's correct. We need to get the downtime to switch over the DB from on-premise to azure SQL. I guess we need to create DNS record to point to azure DB accordingly.

    Appreciate ur efforts bro ....you could have added a point deletion after migration too then it would become realtime based scenario

    If we have all this processes then why we are using AZURE DATA FACTORY?

    • @datainference9239
      @datainference9239 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Data Factory main purpose is to do Cloudbased ETL Operations ...u have copy option too as an added point but that doesnt mean actual requirement ..

    Dear Sir, Your explanation on online and offline migration explanation is not clear. Offline migration means before migration starts you need to completely shutdown the source db down , take back and restore it in the target environment. if the migration takes 10 hours, all the 10 hours source database will not be available. In online migration without shuting down the source database L0 backup will be taken and target environment database will be cloned. During the cutover phase we will shutdown the source database and take L1 backup and apply in the target environment. In online migration the availability of source will be at maximum. There will be less business impact
