Connor, you seem to be repeating yourself buddy, you have already reacted to this, some while back, but it is a great clip, a great gang of comedy talent with amazingly witty humour.
If you like combining history and comedy try horrible histories (try their hilarious bloopers to whet your appetite) and Patrick Barlow, the guy standing in your clip, has some brilliantly funny stuff as one half of The National Theatre of Brent with Jim Broadbent…the two of them playing everyone in dramatised tellings of great moments in history.
What days does the child-burning take place on? I'm arranging a short tour of Northern France and the Low Countries, so it would be nice to coincide my visit with a local festival.
Stevenage: a not so new New Town, built after WW2 for those who wanted to get out of London. New Towns are always the butt of jokes as they are generally regarded to be charmless. Think Levittown. ps I come from Coventry whose centre was bombed by the Nazis in 1940 and mostly destroyed. The local council destroyed the rest, making it a new town. Think 'The Specials' and "Ghost Town".
I live in Cov. too. Decades ago there were several panoramic photographs (maybe 10 metres long) of Coventry from the Cathedral spire in the Polytechnic (now University) Geography department's corridor. One was pre-war, another post-bombing, and another post 're-development'. Nazi bombing was bad, but the town planners were significantly more destructive. Credit where credits due 😀 Best Wishes for 2024. ☮
