If our governments could adopt this type of accommodation for the poor, we will have less slums, this container is beautiful 👏👍🏼
They use containers as temporary accommodation while they wait for RDPs. But they don't insulate them, so they have a bad reputation. I wish they'd do more work on them since it would be much more cost effective than starting from scratch.
Sorry to say this but our government is busy looting and colluding on how to loot more and more for a longer period before there political clock runs out of time.
The government will not do this as it will uplift the poor too much. Don’t be surprised they create special tax cause they will call this type of home luxury home 🏡
I have been viewing Tiny Living for years on You Tube. I agree 💯👍🏽 these projects are needed in all Deprived Countries to End Homelessness.

This is amazing. This would solve a huge part of homelessness. She is amazing. I love that house and would happily live in it. They built prefabs after the war in the UK and people loved them. Why not do something like that. If individuals can achieve this big gangs of volunteers would help. Better still recruit people and give them a job. WELL DONE YOU. I'm so glad I came across your channel.

She is absolutely gorgeous but her spirit is even more beautiful. Great job on this build. Container homes are affordable to purchase, practical, safe, environmentally friendly and can be a great cost saving option for DIYers. There's no good reason why politicians and national leaders with all their money, power, resources and influence can't allow them to be easily constructed in countries like Haiti where it seems like there's an earthquake every 10 years. Instead, they'd rather see their citizens continuously face homelessness and abject poverty. It's incredibly sad and pathetic.
People should invest in land and build these for their family especially once children get grown. It would allow them their adult space but still enjoy their family. Also if they move away they can still have a family land to call home if they ever visit or want to move back. 🙌❤️
I see you helping others achieve their goals of home ownership in the future. A blueprint step by step especially with the paperwork.

Great comment. Besides, afica is more or less like indonesia: heavy rain and super hot weather. How could she bear them? I also believe, like us here, not all people can afford the elwctricity bills for air conditioning
She may need to work on proper insulation, this will reduce the noise and heat. Maybe she needs to work on that

This is beautiful. I visited Kenya for 5 weeks in 1975, the best experience of my life. I was mostly in the Nairobi area but had a week in Mombasa, was able to walk across the equator, and even to see the watering hole overnight at Treetops. I left a part of my heart with the people I met there.

This is wonderful! I’ve been researching shipping container homes to build a guest/pool house on my land that I will live in while I am building my main home. I am planning to complete my entire home build project without loans so that I can live mortgage free. I am going for a lux design just in case I need to rent out the guest home for addt’l income. This video gives me a lot of insight and encouragement that I am on the right track (and not in over my head as a divorced mom). Beautiful job! Thank you for sharing and can’t wait to see more!

So rainwater collection tanks, solar power, septic tank (just can’t do the compost toilet lol) but, still no public utilities and no mortgage…

For intimacy and safety sake I won't advise that because it will mean anyone can get to her "private balcony"
This also means people can creep at night on the stairs to watch her sleep
Something portable maybe that can lock away safely attached the building, but not a permanent structure.
Excellent vision. This is the first container presentation I have seen where the owner cleverly realized she could use magnets to hang and saved spaces with metal rather than plastering walls.
This is the way to go for all the millennials in this beautiful country of ours, well done..

I think this is a fantastic home! Love the idea of using magnets to hang the painting it is brilliant. I love the fact that she took charge of doing the closet the way she wanted to. I bet the carpenter didn't think she could do it. Men forget that women can do anything they set their mind to. The stairs are great I love that they don't take up the interior living space of the home. Love the balcony outside the bedroom what a lovely place to great the day. I would love to live in a container home like that one.
Grace when you said you took over the making of your closet/clothes shelving from the Carpenter and finished it yourself, my heart thrilled and I said "kudos to you lady". Because that's what I would have done myself, as a lady myself I just love working with hammer and saw and nails, oh the whole lot. You go lady, I applaud you wholeheartedly, want to build my own Tiny Home one day.

It is "Home Sweet Home" house. It is amazing to have a house for ourselves, our own. You can design it, where you feel comfortable and relaxed.

Hi Grace, I recently came across the tiny house projects, looking at the ones in the USA. I have been fascinated since then. You have done a magnificent job. I look at this project as a beginning stage for an opportunity to start a tiny house rental program and also for rent to own for homeless and better living conditions. The ppl may have an option to sell at the market price to an interested buyer, if they have outgrown the Tiny house. Food for thought.🤔

Well done. Love the staircase. Just a suggestion: if you cover the open shelving with doors it will make the home look neater and streamlined. For instance, cabinet doors in the kitchen and on the wardrobe. It just looks a bit more put together when things are not out in the open. Best wishes. You're an incredible, young woman.
The house is not yet done. All that is part of finishing it up.
I know the work is not yet finished but I can also suggest for a low cost budget... You can use window blinds as an alternative to the door... At least it helps prevent the little space the doors will take when opened.... And for more extra touch u can glue some painting to it so when rolled down the painting are revealed.... Just a humble opinion

I love that painting. Africa has so many creative artists. I got a couple when I went to Ghana. We call that a canvas painting in the U.S.. Your house is very nice, compact and cozy. Its just enough room for you and your cats which are adorable.
