Hello if anyone sees this. I come back here every now and again and it’s always relaxing and makes me feel good. My dad got me into Skyrim (he’s played all the elder scrolls games) and I am currently replaying Skyrim and something about this world brings me peace. So glad this video and his elder scrolls 6 location theory video exist.

I decided to watch this on a whim today because I ran into an article about ASMR. I have to say it is surprisingly helping with my anxiety. I appreciate the focus on nerdy things. for whatever reason it feels much less weird to listen to the calming journey through fantasy worlds that I'm interested in.

When I first discovered ASMR I found it pretty weird, but once I got past the initial weirdness phase I found it incredibly helpful for dealing with stress and sleep issues, which eventually led me to making this channel. I find that the combination of video game/fantasy world escapism and ASMR relaxation really helps to ease the mind.
Years later, we can still thank Matt Taylor for choosing this topic, and style of video, resulting in Nick producing one of the world's best ASMR video ever created. Thanks both, this was a match made in heaven.
I've been listening to ASMR fairly consistently for about a year now. I'd never had 'Tingles' before and just used to watch them as a means to relax and unwind. However, this is the first video that has ever given me tingles! Amazing!
Seriously, Morrowind the fucken awesome... Damn I wish they'd either remake it or release an upgraded version. To me it was the best then followed by Skyrim. If Skyrim was released when I was the age I was when playing Morrowind then it'd probably be my favorite. Worst thing about getting older: losing most of your imagination
I know what you mean. I played Morrowind when I was about 15, and it made such an impression on me. So part of my love for it is nostalgia, but it's also just a really unique, ambitious game. I really hope the Skywind team comes through and releases their version, that would be incredible.
Rok Mun That's not really Disney's doing. EA/Bioware were already determined to focus on SWTOR, rather than continuing KOTOR (still makes me sad). But since Disney's purchase, EA does have the Star Wars license so they theoretically could have Bioware make KOTOR 3, or another Star Wars rpg. And hell, maybe after the disappointing performance of Andromeda they'll be more willing to,come back to the Star Wars well.
What's even more amazing is how much I *don't* know about the Elder Scrolls. The lore is so rich and there's so much to know...the rabbit hole goes very deep.

I love collecting old parchment maps and the Elder Scrolls maps are some of my favorite(barring the fact that they're all new and waxy). The artwork is phenomenal.

The first time i experienced asmr I thought that there was something wrong with me. But when I found videos like this I knew that there is people like me and it's pretty normal. Just subscribed recently and am a huge fan of your Elder Scrolls ASMR videos. Not only do I love ASMR but I also grew up playing Morrowind, so I really enjoyed relaxing and listening your maps tutorial and lore to go with it. Any chance you might consider doing a similar video but more around the guilds such as the Dark Brotherhood, Mages Guild, etc. I don't know how much you could do on that but just an idea! - Great work and thanks.

Do you mean a video where I go over the Oblivion or Skyrim map, and speak more in-depth about the guilds in each of those provinces, kind of like I did for the Morrowind map?
+theASMRnerd That's right, I actually kind of forgot you went over the guilds of Morrowind (sorry, my bad!). Then maybe Oblivion or Skyrim guilds would be interesting to walk-through, talking about certain groups and their ranks and impacts on the world, etc. I know when I joined the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion and the Werewolves/Vampires, Thieves Guild, etc, in Skyrim thinking how all those side stories are so in depth and would be a cool subject matter!

Stros M'kai looks like an interesting place to go, especially considering all the lore in skyrim about it. Maybe not as the main setting for The Elder Scrolls VI more like a DLC of some kind

Do you think you'll be able to do a reading of the Improved Emperor's Guide to Tamriel book that came with the Imperial Edition of ESO? You can find new copies of it for fairly cheap on eBay and it's a 200+ page lore book about a guy recording his experiences throughout Tamriel. It also doubles as the art book for the game as it's filled with eso concept art.

The way you describe the provinces make them seem so much more real and vibrant than I remember when I was playing them, especially Morrowind. I think after watching these, I will replay those games and pay closer attention to the scenery and all of the effort put into making these worlds rather than just focusing on getting better gear, beating ruins, etc. Thank you for the wonderful tour! Bethesda does a wonderful job of building detailed worlds rich with environmental storytelling. Also, I was in my early teens when I played Morrowind, so I have a lot of nostalgia for it. If you're thinking of revisiting Morrowind, and you're playing on PC, I recommend you check out MGSO 3.0. It's a huge modpack with an installer that will walk you through the process of making the game look, sound, and play much better. I hope you enjoy your playthru! And as for other soft-spoken vids, have you checked out my recent Art of Skyrim videos?
Thank you! I will look into that mod. I never even finished Morrowind. I played it for a long time but as I was working on the story (on two separate playthrus), the game would bug out and I would lose all of my progress. I gave up after that. I really do want to finish it and uncover the story again. Hopefully that mod also takes care of the bugs. I did see the Art of Skyrim videos and enjoyed them as well :D

The maps have always been a very neat addition to the games. I remember playing Daggerfall and Morrowind, but never had a map for either of those. I still have the Cyrodiil and Skyrim maps. They are so cool, thanks for sharing this!

Everything about it just seemed amazing, it felt almost like a living world. I could get lost/entranced in the game just by staring at the water

Do you think you'll be able to do a reading of the Improved Emperor's Guide to Tamriel book that came with the Imperial Edition of ESO? You can find new copies of it for fairly cheap on eBay and it's a 200+ page lore book about a guy recording his experiences throughout Tamriel. It also doubles as the art book for the game as it's filled with eso concept art.

The way you describe the provinces make them seem so much more real and vibrant than I remember when I was playing them, especially Morrowind. I think after watching these, I will replay those games and pay closer attention to the scenery and all of the effort put into making these worlds rather than just focusing on getting better gear, beating ruins, etc. Thank you for the wonderful tour! P.S. I love soft spoken much better than whisper and this video is very nice; both interesting and relaxing! I hope to see more from you like this!
Bethesda does a wonderful job of building detailed worlds rich with environmental storytelling. Also, I was in my early teens when I played Morrowind, so I have a lot of nostalgia for it. If you're thinking of revisiting Morrowind, and you're playing on PC, I recommend you check out MGSO 3.0. It's a huge modpack with an installer that will walk you through the process of making the game look, sound, and play much better. I hope you enjoy your playthru! Thank you! I will look into that mod. I never even finished Morrowind. I played it for a long time but as I was working on the story (on two separate playthrus), the game would bug out and I would lose all of my progress. I gave up after that. I really do want to finish it and uncover the story again. Hopefully that mod also takes care of the bugs. I did see the Art of Skyrim videos and enjoyed them as well :D
Yeah, Morrowind was notorious for bugs. And it's super disheartening to lose a save game :(. But MGSO fixes a lot of bugs :D

The maps have always been a very neat addition to the games. I remember playing Daggerfall and Morrowind, but never had a map for either of those. I still have the Cyrodiil and Skyrim maps. They are so cool, thanks for sharing this!
