Wonderful. Enjoyed this a lot. She seems so much more responsive than many Vizslas I've met. You obviously deserve credit for all the attention you give her and your commitment to her exercise needs. Love the fact that people are FINALLY waking up to the fact that dog's tails should not be hacked off and the breeder left Willa alone in this regard. Is tail docking illegal in Canada? In the States - as you can imagine - the brutal practice is still common place.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment Richard 🧡 we do try to spoil Willa with as much exercise as possible! I work from home so that definitely makes it easier to be there for her. Yes in BC, Canada it is illegal to dock tails. We are really happy she still has her long tail :)
My partner and I are looking after a Vizsla this week - I was expecting her to be way more high maintenance that she is, given the breeds nature. She is the most polite and good natured dog; credit to the owner probably :)
My Vizsla routine - 30 minut morning walk including small fetch session, afternoon walk - 30-40 minutes including some training/ or fetch/ or playing with dog, evening walk for poo - 10 minutes
@@silviathiemann688 mental stimulation is crucial. And not too many stressors for your dog. If the dog gets calm life he will get used to it and be calm as well. If you throw at him 6 walks a day with multiple dog interactions he will be like a ticking bomb.
Is that an off leash trail or is there just not that many people? Jealous, it’s very hard to find off leash areas in my area. Keep up the videos she reminds me of when my vizsla was young!
Yes, it is an off-leash area! Vancouver, BC has tons of dog parks and trails, this one is right by our place and there are tons of trails that branch off the main path and it's all off-leash thankfully. She has a great time out there!
Can I ask where in BC you got Willa from?! Having a tough time finding Vizsla Breeders here and the one that did respond back to me quoted $4500 for their pups 😮
Great walks. Where do you live that allows off leash? I’m in suburban PA and everywhere is on leash. I’m originally from the UK and that’s pretty much off leash everywhere. Also, if you don’t mind sharing, which breeder did you work with to get your pup? So many in the US dock tails and I prefer the full tail (maybe since it’s illegal in the UK and what I’m used to seeing)
Yes Vancouver is super dog friendly so lots of dog parks. I’m lucky to have a lots of trails near by that are off leash. They are called Fraser Valley Vizslas. Excellent breeders! It’s also illegal in BC to dock tails, thank god Willa’s tail is the best, it’s apart of her personality now haha.
So nice to see her at the trails. We do a lot off leash and she's responsive like yours but when someone shows up, she's gone and barking. I always have to stay alert... Last thing I try to solve.
Good job! We live in California where off-leash dog walking is not culturally popular. There are dog beaches and parks in our area, but anywhere else is generally considered either on leash of no dogs allowed. This includes pet stores like Pet Smart where staff are clearly disturbed by the presence of dogs on leashes attending the store. Home Depot, Lowes, etc. are also not dog friendly stores in this state, even though most of the rest of the nation seems to appreciate dogs in these massive department stores. Subsequently, most dogs and dog owners in the state do not have well socialized animals and lack either experience or role models in their community to learn about and undertake off-leash dog experiences leading to a dog-integrated community. It's such as shame for a seemingly 'liberal' easy going state that purports to love it's outdoor lifestyle and so you would expect would be really dog friendly.
You don’t have to be an athlete but they do need lots of exercise, but walking, off leash parks and training can be enough. If you don’t burn their energy vizslas tend to act out.
Yeah, you don't have to run yourself. Just walk a lot and off leash time. She'll run around you 😄 It's awesome to get the 10k steps a day or more. And it's not a problem to rest some days in between. You don't have to walk every day. Some days we're both lazy and just go out to the garden toilet.
What a BEAUTIFUL Baby!
Isn't she just the best?!

That sounds like a perfect routine for your vizsla!!
How old is your dog? That wouldn‘t nearly be enough for my pup

Don’t forget to put a coat on her in the cold. She doesn’t have an undercoat.
Yes we have a coat for her!

$4500 sounds like a lot!
Where are you located?
We got Willa from Fraser Valley Vizsla’s in BC. They are excellent breeders. I believe she was $2800
@@BecomingADogOwner Recently moved from the coast to the Okanagan but willing to travel a bit! I'll look into them thanks!!

I want to adopt a Vizsla puppy. Do you have to be an athlete to have such a dog? Do they need a lot of physical activity and hard physical exercises?
