Great work mate. I hope you enjoyed my fishing report. Hahaha
Thats a ripper looking spot. My type of fishing spot. Shade, views, wildlife, fish and the sound if running water. Perfect.
Thanks Robbie. I read your report every week mate. Yeah it has everything here, a lovely spot to just forget the world!
great video looks like an awesome spot cant wait to see you flick some plastics down there
Great little spot we went there 2 weeks ago great little spot.
That's really cool, I like it there. I'm hoping to get back over there again soon
Nice to see you out at the new spot my friend. Hope you have very Happy Holidays. Take care.
You should use a pair of those thin pliers that the end angles in one direction. That's why I use, it enables me to get the hook out even if it's deep, if the hook is too deep they say you can just cut the line where it attaches to the hook and throw the fish back, sounds crazy, but a fish is most likely to survive even if the hook remains in it.
I have them pliers but this hook was a bit too deep to get even using them. If it was a native fish I would have cut the line and released the fish like I always do, but it was only a redfin so I got my hook back lol
Oops sorry mate that's my mistake hitting the tree lol that's a very good spot there use some Shrimp there yellas love them mate
LOL Is that really your tackle up there? haha that's funny. I'll take some shrimp and yabbies with me next time thanks for the tip
@@RKJFishing well not mine my partner's line lol was a funny moment I tried to get just out of my reach 🤣 it's a very great spot cast the shrimp line right near that bridge
What a coincidence that I watched this today, I was just there today. Nice to know there's redfin, I've only caught carp there. Thinking of taking the kayak in the back part.
Oh wow that's really cool! Yeah I'm toying with the idea of kayaking there too haha
I bought a Block 400m from the channel 😉 Retiring in x3 years so look forward to taking a Chair & an Esky down there & throwing a rod in 👌
Judging by the old fireplaces it might be a popular spot Rohan, might be worthwhile doing a night session. I'm not sure how the rivers and channels fish down there, but we do alright up here in QLD anyway it could be good on film.
True mate, I'm hoping to do a bit more night fishing once I have some better headlamps and torches so the footage comes out visible haha
Great entertainment.
Have you given it a go in the turbulent water at the regulator?
I sure did Gary, in my newest upload I was back at that spot. I flicked spinnerbaits and chatterbaits around for about an hour up at the regulator but did no good, I suspect it's because the water is really high at the moment and the fish can swim over it lol. I'll try again once the irrigation water settles a little bit
I always look for fishing stuff in the trees when exploring a new spot, but always have mixed feelings when I see it -- on one hand it gives reassurance this is a fishable spot, on the other hand, if it's so great where is everybody, LOL! Looked like a beautiful evening mate!
Very true. The other thing to keep in mind is that if there's tackle in the trees the spot might be overfished as well. It was a very relaxing evening mate, good for the soul.
The family and I go too that spot dad got to 2 carp 1 redfin there's a weir and further up there's a opening and Mabry the stick formation beside you great vid mate
Beautiful part of our backyard
Cheers Gary, it sure is mate. (I'm assuming you don't mean it's literally your backyard?)
looks like a great little piece of water mate, never under estimate Mr Google Earth Maps, that's where I have found a high majority of lakes & rivers for myself, nothing like hitting water that's more less untouched to a certain degree, then the satisfaction of finding good fish to claim your own spot.
Cheers mate. I reckon I'll be using google maps more often from now on haha
Hi Highcountry Flylife. How's life over the Ditch, mate? Getting out after anything much? Have a wonderful Christmas mate.
@@AndrewFishman yeah same old, trout trout and more group, lakes and rivers but new water which has been great, what about yourself, you have a great Christmas yourself
@@HighcountryFlylife Just the usual. Lots of small reddies and big carp. With the occasional big reddy and small carp just to change things up a bit 😂🤣
Another good fishing video those are surely fun, you and your family have a great Christmas and New year hope to see more videos soon..
At least you did not have to terrible of a day fishing but that was a awesome scenery
Good work mate,. Have you ever tried stimulate oil when bites are slow ,, works well.for me oh or sguidgie sent ,,tight lines merry Christmas 🎄
I've used scents on my lures before but never on my baits. maybe it's something I should look into? Thanks so much mate, Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.
it's always interesting scouting out some new spots
You're right mate it is. We just have to hope there's fish there once we arrive haha
Less carp is always great especially when one Australia's best carp slayers going after them
lol I dunno about that, there are loads of people better at catching carp than I am, but I doubt they have as much fun lol
It is a good spot try lures up near the regulator
Cheers Robert, I'm definitely planning to go back there and do exactly that, and maybe try above the regulator in my kayak!
It always nice to catch fish in a new spot. And it's nice to get your gear back. Good job!👍👍
Good to see someone catching in central vic
Thanks heaps mate! Some areas are fishing exceptionally well, others are fairly slow. My area seems to change from week to week LOL
Well done mate. I've started using google maps too lol, that's how I found the bream honey hole.
Can you please spill the road I don't want to fish there just looks good for swimming 👍🏻🍻
It's always fun finding a new fishing spot. You know there's fish there now too. Well, carp and perch anyway. Hopefully others as well when you come back. :)
Great job on finding that new spot Rohan. I also use google maps to find places. Keep it up
Thanks heaps mate. I used to do it a lot but my regular spots kept firing for me until recently so I'm back into adventure mode again hahaha
Well done Rohan, that first one was
enjoying those worms too much lol...
I find that with red fin they make pigs of them selfs 🤣
the carp almost took your rod lol
Merry Christmas to you and yours brother ATB Jim 🌲👍🇦🇺🍻🍻
I have similar experiences with redfin as well haha! Yeah that rod was about half a second away from launching into the water LOL. Thanks heaps Jim, Merry Christmas to you and yours as well mate
How did you decide on where looked 'fishy' when you were looking on Google maps? I haven't done this before so am keen for some tips on where is a likely spot
Great question Andrew! Basically I just look for anywhere that I might be able to access the water. You never really know if it's gonna be a good spot until you get there unfortunately
@@RKJFishing Sounds like I've got some hours on the computer before time in the car!!! Lucky it's holiday time
Nice work Rohan the new spot looks relaxing asf! When I started fishing my friends and I used google maps to find waterways near us then we'd show each other the spots the next day at school. Bro legit having a landing net makes it so much easier to land carp hahaha! I just bought one last week and I'm loving it so much lol.
Thanks mate! It's already better than the last spot because it has shade haha. It's very rare for me to go carp fishing without a net, they are an absolute lifesaver!
Another great video Rohan. Hope you have a great Christmas. Looking forward to watching your fishing adventures after the silly season 🍻🍻👍👍
Nice carp! I still haven’t caught on to some carp.
Thanks mate. You should give them a go, they grow absolutely massive over there haha
It’s a carp or a big Redfin... pretty safe call there mate, you should go out on a limb and start calling random fish... lol
Love Google Maps for exploring. I think you're right about the plastics next time !!!
Hey Rohan ask Robbie to send you a photo of my little nephew with his first Reddie out of my dam
He showed me the photo, that's a ripper of a 1st redfin! Good on the little fella that was awesome.
Love ya work
Thanks so much mate
