Just a thought. If scientists are going to try to harness energy from the sun for space travel at supersonic speeds 1 day that compare to travel at the speed of light, multiplied many times over, you’ll indefinitely need the energy of the sun to do it. I’d start with mercury 1st to gage what kind of energy I could harness from it as a planet instead. Then go from there (namely send a remote ship without anyone in it into deep space because no human can withstand travel at the speed of light unless you can create a space bubble around your craft to secure you from space debris, physical harm or turbulence at warp speeds!) scan everything for safety and offshoot space drones to investigate anything interesting or concerning. The measly rockets NASA flies into space on fuel aren’t going anywhere fast. It’s all for show. The real technology, engineering, and exploration has already been occurring on the moon from the moon. It’s why we can’t ever see the dark side. Everything’s hidden in plain sight. It doesn’t take a century to make contact with other beings “if there’s anything out there”. They’re just hiding the truth from us.
There's no way to know unless you have top-level access. I'd imagine this would be extragovernmental information. Also unless you have some kind of source for that dark side of the moon claim... Why even write it?

It could teach us more about our planet but you are probably right all the money used to examine other planets could be used here because we know so little about our planet or do we😮
We're well into advanced stages of learning about our planet. We have hundreds of specialized fields involving applied sciences. Claiming our understanding of the goings on beyond Earth is obfuscated because we don't know ~everything~ there is to know about Earth is an argument from ignorance. That may sound rude to say, but it's an honest remark. People generally are ignorant of the things they don't truly understand. That's why we strive to learn more and continue pushing the boundaries of knowledgeability. To be fair, we'll still be studying our own planet once we become an interplanetary species.
Eventually, the sun will destroy the earth. The human race is destined for extinction if it does not become interplanetary

That's one of their basic failings. They believe the Earth (and all other celestial objects) to be SEPARATE and UN-CONNECTED entities in the Universe. When in fact everything in the cosmos is part of a system (perhaps even LIVING) through interconnected bridges of charged particles of plasma across billions of light years. And by the way, you are quite correct that this age of ignorance we presently live in will eventually pass. Enlightenment will come around again. Fear not...Nothing is ever truly lost.

Mercury the smallest planet in our solar system but yet they deemed Pluto a non planet
Because it’s still big enough to be considered a planet.
Where as pluto is smaller than the smallest planet.
It was not reclassified because of its size. It turns out Pluto did not clear its orbit around the sun of other objects where as Mercury did. That's because Pluto (and Eris, discovered in 2005) are both members of the Kuiper belt.
Back long ago when I was in school Pluto was considered a planet but it stuck out like a sore thumb. It is not in the orbital plain with the rest of the planets and it sometimes orbits closer to the sun than Neptune. Clearly we were missing something.

Yes Mercury is the smallest planet in our solar system. You may think that makes it smaller than Pluto but it does not. Mercury is over twice the size of Pluto but Pluto is not a planet so Mercury is the smallest planet. Also size is not the only criteria for being a planet, Pluto was also not able to clear it's orbital path.
