I just finished watching Lisa Lane appear on a 1961 episode of "What's My Line?" In that segment, the four-person panel were not able to figure out her line. (That segment is also available via TH-cam.)
As a fellow chess player, I've read of Lisa Lane. This clip and the "What's My Line?" clip are the video clips I've ever seen of her. Very happy to find them.
Like Bobby Fischer, Lane never knew her father. Unlike Fischer, Lane didn't begin playing chess until her late teens.
Lane won U.S. Women's Chess Championship in 1959 at the age of 21. This was just two years after she began playing the game. When she defended it for the first time, three years later in 1962, she lost to Gisela Kahn Gresser. (For 25 years, Gresser dominated women's chess in the United States. She won the U.S. Women's Chess Championship nine times from 1944 to 1969. Gresser was also the first woman to be inducted into the U.S. Chess Hall of Fame, which happened in 1992.)
As of August, 2023, Lane is still alive. She is currently 85 years old.

This was obviously before ESPN, and the OVER-coverage that NFL players of today get. If Doak Walker had played in today's NFL, he would be the most celebrated AND most recognizable face on TV. What a player he was, and what a career the handsome Doak had. I'm still very surprised that he didn't wind up in Hollywood.
God bless our NFL heroes from a bygone era. R.I.P. Doak Walker🏈
    THANKS FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO.

It really is a sign of the times, some of these episodes will have a miss universe and I think the same thing, we would know who she was immediately just like this fellow. Amazing advancement in 50 years.

Tom Poston always asks questions that all three of them can't answer which helps exactly no one! I am a fan of Poston and everybody who remembers the show just loved him though. He as well as the charming Don Ameche were cheerful, delightful men.

Most unusual show - two contestants getting all four votes. Don't think I've seen that before. Nothing unusual though about Polly Bergen, just stunningly beautiful as ever! I reckon the cave man was was really Batman, he just didn't want his cover blown on air! KAN

I don’t understand why Doak Walker didn’t get any of the football questions right: belly series, T formation, single wing.formation, and even the definition of red-dogging. You could tell Don Ameche was perturbed by no one knowing the answers. His questions were excellent and correct answers to even one or two of them would’ve revealed which man was Doak.

used to live in missouri, there are many caves that businesses operate in, almost like a mall underground, the air is pretty bad tho, all those trucks coming in and out, nowhere for the fumes to go... back in the day a lot of them were "speakeasies" during prohibition.
