But the ball actually introduces a couple variables into play, like how and where the ball will bounce. One could make it extra challenging by using a not so perfectly circle ball. We had accidentally found that out when the ball we were using got grinded down on one side.
Actually Jackstone for me is much more challenging than Gonggi. After the tenth level, you transition to the 'Tricks' much more level up of the game. There are tricks that you also do the levels, 1, 2, 3 and 4th so on and so fourth. Remind you that there are at least like 20 tricks within the game. Jackstone is the ultimate "killer game time" at that time. You can play it for hours and still enjoy it if you're a group playing. I used to dominate in this game. I used to know tons of tricks. 👍 Sadly Jackstone has been neglected by new generations of course by gadgets and social media.
There's 2 different kinds of jackstone games. One is the one with the ball that you played but the jacks are usually smaller and you use 10 jacks only. The other one is called Chinese jackstones. That one uses 1 bigger bean bag and three smaller bean bags and is very similar to gongji. Kids play that a lot in school. Ah, memories. 😜 Thanks for playing this game. So fun to watch you both having fun that way. Lotsa laughs!
there are a lot of version of jackstones here in Philippines. In our place, we only use 6 jacks and play it on 6 levels. After we finish it, we will move to what we called "exhibitions" (6 levels too) where the players are free to do their tricks. hehe
There are "tricks levels" in jackstone after you finished level 10, anyone of you will decide on what tricks you will play. The bounce of the ball makes the game more interesting because you can make tricks that make the game more challenging, such as circling your hand around the ball before it touches the ground for the 2nd time. The "Korean way" is actually one of the tricks in jackstone.
The way Sylvia scooped those jackstones with her feet! >v< I was having a very hard time this past few days and I finally got to laugh so hard. This feels refreshing!
It's hard to play jackstones on certain wood tiles, like the one the one you have, since it dampens the bounce of the ball. There are two more variations to play it: A (harder) version is to avoid touching the other stones when picking a certain number. The next one is the exhibition round. You need to create different fancy moves in picking the stones; e.g. after throwing the ball up and picking a stone, you need to move around your hand (with the stone) around ball before catching it.
I played that a lot back then 😂 i used to know a lot of tricks just like what ate moy did on the last part hahaha around the world etc. meron pa ngang palaka 😂
OMG! This is the funniest vlog I've seen so far. I really cracked up when Sylvia grabbed the Jackstones with her feet!! I didn't expect to see that move. hahahaha. 🤣🤣You guys are very funny. As for Moy's punishment, I say she should cook you your favorite Filipino food so this way you both can enjoy it at the end.😋😋
love this game. Theres one more game that we do with jackstones. We spin it, and the one who spins more jackstone at the same time without stopping wins the game. Enjoy!God bless po.
Jackstones is one of my favorite childhood games. The trick that I remember is the one Sylvia did 😂 and also pick-up sticks and Chinese garter. I miss playing those games.
2:25 Moy : 'so we're gonna play jackstone' Sylvia:'okay' Moy:'i'm gonna teach my korean ah *"FRIEND?"* Sylvia :'uhm what was that 😂.... *my tita, my kuya* ' Hahahhaha you both are so funny and cute😂🥰
Besides around the world, there's a lot of things to do before ending the game. Oh I missed playing jackstone with my cousins. I enjoyed watching you guys. 😁😁😁 Btw. Take care and stay safe Ate Sylvia and Moy 😊😇
I think we Asians share the same type of games but each country just reinvent or redefined it that's why it became a bit different but the essence is just the same.
This is so wholesome! 💜 It's so heartwarming to see two different nationalities coming together sharing each other's cultures while being genuinely open to each others similarities & differences while playing & just having a good time! 😄
Woaaah this is so fun to watch. I keep on laughing and having goosebumps because of the similarities. Thank you for playing jackstones and making this video Ate Sylviaaa *heart heart*
I just got here and you brought me back from my childhood, jackstone is really a creative game and we usually play it with six pieces of stones and after you reach the level 6 it has some add ons levels just like ate moy showed in last clips, the 1 knock, 2 knocks, cave, around the world, baskerball and etc. 😍
Punishment: Winner gives their camera to the loser for one (or more) day(s), loser creates a vlog for the winner during this time. Winner gets to upload a vlog/content.
@@SylviaKim Thanks! I just want to add, since it's a punishment, I think the video should be related to the winner or something for the winner. Sylprise us! And I just want everyone to know, if my suggestion gets chosen, consider this as a double punishment for Moy for eating sinigang soup and rice with her bare hands, ay nako, mapisti naman, use a spoon!
I first watched Gonggi played on TWICE's TTT New Year edition (this year) and yes, it's almost the same with the concept of jackstone. However, the stones of Gonggi is a bit smaller.
kagigising ko lng and this is my breakfast., yung pagkasabi ni Moy ng JACKSTONE tas nanlaki mata 😂😂 miss this #SylMoy kalokohan 😂😂 Moy typical pinoy, making a way to cheat just to win 😂😂
80s kids are the real expert on jackstone. this game is for girls only but even i'm a straight boy, i can play that too. there are so many levels and exhibition in this game like "around the world", "put in inside the cave" & others. the rule is the ball should bounce only once and no other stones should be touched or move when you're grabbing a specific number of stones.
There's also a trick that involves spelling words like, mom, milo (choco powder drink), ILY (depending on how many letters you spelled, that's the number of stones you'll pick) 😊 thanks for sharing this video! It reminded me of my childhood. Hahaha
Sylvia's voice is so awesome her voice when tries to speak Tagalog are different (almost a Filipina accent) when speak to her 1st language korean is so cute then when she sings it's sounds like WOW

The way we play of jackstones was varied from region to region here in Philippines especially the ending level .. its so confusing and complicated .. we even play jackstone at school especially when the floor has been done cleaning with floorwax.. its a killing time for vacant time in our class.. or we play at home when its rainy season..
From what I remember (2.5 decades I think since I last played this), you're not supposed to touch the other stones if you are not trying to pick them yet.

Jackstone is pretty much similar to Gonggi, but its more easier since you have more time to pick up the jackstones because of the ball.
I thought it was easier too, but sooo confusing when I actually play it!!😆
