Mo Salah’s second half goal proved the difference in a tense, tight encounter at Anfield.
Phil Foden appeared to have put City ahead early in the second half, only to see his strike ruled out for an Erling Haaland foul after referee Anthony Taylor adjusted his decision following a VAR intervention.
Both sides had the chances to win, but it was Liverpool who came out on top thanks to Salah’s 76th minute finish.

I think Pep should try and give Ortega more playing time over Ederson to prove himself so he can handle big matches too. He is gonna perform well with more playing time than fixing Ederson who is only good with his legs in pass and not giving good keeping when the defense gets frustrated

Absolutely fantastic match. Didn't think that elliot and milner would defend so well against the threat from the left flank. hats off to him.Also Allison and Gomez were almost flawless throughout. The team effort was outstanding. the fact that KDB and rodri's passing became sloppy at the ends of both the halves is itself a great testament to how good lfc were on the pitch.

Bernado literally did a wrestling move to take down Salah and later shoved him during the altercation and still he got away without even a yellow card. And yet, after the game he had the audacity to talk about the ref' poor decisions...🤦♂
The goal was amazing!! The ball was passed from Ali to Mo as if the two were playing alone, Mo controlled it in 3 merged moves (denied Cancello with his body, spined and killed the ball to the ground with left foot), the 4th move (pushed the ball forward and with his insane speed) made himself in front of the gool alone ahead of City players chasing him in vain, the 5th touch was to keep the situation as is and to bring him closer to the goal, the 6th touch ends that ferry tail which happened within 7 seconds only. Waaaaaaw

@@christiankarlsen8441 He made a few balls ups; wrongly awarded City the goal kick after Ederson's save, should have called the tug on Fabinho long before VAR was even needed since it was an easy foul to see in real time, and unbelievably didn't call a foul when Silva pulled down Salah. Apart from that he got everything right, just in a messy and confusing way. Someone said he stopped a City attack to send Klopp off. If so that's a bad one. I saw Milner get away with a cheeky shove or two near the corner flag but nothing major. I'll never understand with all the VAR technology how many corners keep on being awarded as goal kicks. It's something that can be seen long before the keeper collects the ball for the goal kick.

Don't play Gundo and Rodri at the same, too many chefs in the kitchen, once I saw that Gundo, Rodri, KdB and Bernardo were all starting I knew it wouldn't go well, these are all top players mind you but there's a strategy with substitutions that Pep usually ignores in these big matches.
