  • Karlova Cafes Day offers a variety of activities spread across the neighbourhood. Cafes are open on the streets of Karlova neighbourhood in Tartu the whole day.
Not every city has old wooden architecture preserved as in here. We know examples from nordic countries where blocks of old houses were replaced with modern buildings.
Some of the houses along the walk are renovated, some are not but you are definitely going to get some glimpse of how people used to live in cities in Estonia 100 years ago and even more. It was period when people moved in to those wooden houses from country side. Karlova was not the only area popular 100 - 120 years ago, there were similar places in other Estonian cities as well.
Today this is relatively quiet neighbourhood with only some cars moving during weekends. Workdays have bigger traffic but nevertheless this area is relatively quiet comparing to other streets in Tartu.

Tartu is a charming and historic city located in southeastern Estonia. It's the second-largest city in the country. Here are some key features and attractions in Tartu Estonia:
University of Tartu: The city is home to one of Europe's oldest universities, the University of Tartu, founded in 1632. The university campus, with its historical buildings and botanical gardens, is a significant part of Tartu's identity.
Toomemägi Park: Toomemägi, or Cathedral Hill, is a scenic park in the heart of Tartu. It features the ruins of Tartu Cathedral, the Observatory, and the iconic Angel's Bridge. The park offers a peaceful retreat and beautiful views of the city.
Tartu Town Hall Square: The Town Hall Square is a central hub surrounded by colorful buildings, cafes, and shops. The Town Hall itself is an impressive example of Baltic-German architecture.
