One point for anyone watching, NEVER cut a board wider than it is long using the fence, you are asking for kickback, always use the mitre guide or home made crosscut sled and move the fence out of the way or take it off. You were fortunate, others may not be. Sorry to be negative.

Had one of these for a couple of years, still using it, it's been a solid performer, the stand is a royal PITA to build, the mitre guage on mine is awful, and the dust extraction is abysmal, but, once you set it up and get it square it makes accurate cuts and stays dialled in. I put a soft start mod on mine and use a nicer blade in it, but it's a decent saw and I'd recommend it. I keep the stock blade for if I need to rough cut boards, or I'm using pallet wood that might have a nail still in it.

Nice video but It would have been even better had you reviewed how flat the table bed is, if the tracks are parallel to the blade, and how the fence performs.

This seemed a really good review. Well done on the video!
I’m considering biting the bullet and investing in a table saw (as a DIYer) as I just can’t seem to ever cut straight with a hand saw. I’ve always been a bit scared though as it is a circular saw and can be dangerous.
Does the extractor come with the product or is that a separate buy?

i have one of these ive had it for a about a year now its the first table saw ive owned so i have nothing to compair it to
i love it and really enjoy using it
ive fitted a slow start motor to it because it kicks in pretty hard when starting up this has made a massive difference.
i use saxton blades wich are better than the supplied blade and it cuts really well and smooth would i have another yes definatly
i think its a fab saw for the price.

Another good option, if it's available where you live, is the Skil TS6307. After reading some great reviews, I picked one up a few weeks ago and I've been very happy with it. I got it on sale for $300 (US). Mine was pretty well tuned out of the box, and getting it set up and dialed in only took me maybe half an hour. The rack and pinion fence is pretty nice, but don't expect much from the miter gauge. Can't expect the world from a $300 saw. The fold out legs don't look like much in pictures but are surprisingly solid and stable. The blade it came with gets the job done, but I think dedicated ripping and crosscut blades would give better finish quality cuts. Skil seems to be stepping up their game after their reputation took a dive years ago. I'm actually looking at their 10 amp router and router table combo for $200, too. Something to consider if you are on a budget or just getting started.

I just got a Skil for $299 too. Can't wait to start using it. Best selling point is the rack and pinion fence. This saw doesn't look like it has one. Just like my old basic Ryobi table saw, which will shortly go on the market.

@@pgtips4240 I'm going to guess the big issue thats not said in this video that the blade size is not a common so there for you have to buy their blades at expensive prices. A quick google shows that the evolution blade is around £40 per blade but a 255mm blade with a 30mm bore you can get a pack of 3 trend brand ones for £70

Interesting! I'm just getting into woodworking and looking to get both a table saw and a circular/tracksaw. I've never heard of this brand before and was looking to buy the DeWalt 7492 which is currently roughly the same price where I am as the Evolution but from a much more reputable retailer. The DeWalt's main con is that it doesn't have a built-in stand or wheels. I'd love to get your input.

Another great review. I'm in process of looking for a compound mitre saw and Evolution is top of the list. My table saw is a Titan from Screwfix, had it a few years and works well. Problem as you said, it doesn't fold up so is just in the way when not used. I hate it when not in use, love it when using it. Doing garage out next Yr and thinking of building the table saw into my workbench.

Can you advise me? I have an outside tap but it’s at the back of the kitchen extension and it emerges low down on the outside wall. The floor is concrete. There is a stop cock about 12 feet from the back of the house in the kitchen for turning off mains water in the event of an emergency. There is no exposed pipe work in the kitchen other than under the kitchen sink unit which is on the outside wall of the galley kitchen. I would like to reroute the outside tap from the back of the house to the side of the house to reduce the length of pipe involved and make it safer but I’m unable to work out how the outside tap pipe work, presumably under the concrete floor, connects to the cold water supply…🤔

Just bought this exact saw, the initial experience has been a bit poor, bought with next day delivery and it took 5 days to arrive as Evolution sent it out late and didn't use a next day service. On opening the box I found a few bolts and washers rattling around, eventually worked out where they went. As you said you have to build it, the paper manual is poor and their video is really bad, it runs too fast and has poor camera angles, ther are also errors on the video as you will discover when you end up with 4 spare washers that should go between the plastic base and the frame. I did a double check before turning on the saw and found the blade fouled the plastic dust shroud, Evolution got a new part to me in a couple of days and it seems fine now. There were also a couple of other minor issues, on the right side table extension there was a small dint and rust underneath the black paint in one corner, I don't think this will affect the use, but if it does I am sure Evolution would replace it. Haven't had a chance to test out the saw yet.

Bought this a couple of years ago. Overall it's poor! The fence on mince doesn't go straight across the surface of the table and so doesn't guide the material all the way through. As it floats in the middle somewhere, the fence can creep a good few mm and leave very inaccurate cuts!. The metal legs flail out like a tripod and the rubber foot protectors fall off regularly. The good thing to come out of buying this is that I now know what I'm looking for in a table saw. Basically something as far away as possible from this one!

I have one of these too, i like it overall, although it may need a bit of adjustment out of the box, to get accurate cuts,
I've fitted a soft start, an stop button flap and other mods. love that it can cut metal, and fence clamps down on both sides. its idea for DIY use, and well priced.
However like most table saws dust is hard to control, I find piles of dust on the floor, despite dust extract connected.

Sorry but I think you are 90percent wrong and 10percent correct, why do I say this?? Simple that for about the same price of the evolution you can get something much better and much more practical than the evolution and what’s even better is that if you’re going to do a bit diy for a friend or family member you can throw this mystery tool in the boot of most medium/large sized cars so what is this mystery tool…,
Well it’s what’s known as a Table Top mitresaw which is exactly what it says it is it’s a mitresaw that has the ability to be transformed into a tablesaw in minutes and is available from a wide number of manufacturers from Bosch to Makita and all the way through to Ryobi and I know Evolution used to make one but can’t say for certain if they still make them, so you are not quite correct but it was still a good video all the same

Evolution appears to hit my profile. I've seen reviews. I've bought few... and, following calls to suppliers, taken them back unused next day, as advised dead on arrival. If you're lucky with quality control, you get a superb vfm tool. Otherwise, modern returns policies are there for a reason - to retain customers.
The phrase 'ridiculous amount of money' is disingenuous. Remember when 2GB external hard disk drive was £600. Tools similar - 35+ years ago, pro tools were vastly more expensive than today compared to income for pros and DiYers. We lose perspective and expect quality to cost very little. DeWalt jobsite table saw always comes top of reviews because it hits a sweetspot of price and quality - spend less, get a lot less, spend quite a lot more, and you get a bit more. If I needed a tablesaw, I'd get DeWalt. Track compatible circular saws have worked for me so far
