I was at this concert in the standing-room area in front of the stage. It was a magical night, and the energy of the crowd was electric the entire night.
What most people forget is that Lara was running a 100+ fever, but as they say, "the show must go on". She couldn't let her fans down, and you can see how much we (the fans) love her back.

this makes sense actually, around the time she surrendered to the crowd earlier on and just looked at the crowd and took a small break she kinda looked sick like someone with fever.
Lara was facing really hard times on a professional and personal side at that time.
Her fan base knew it and wanted to show some support. She said it really uplifted her state of mind.
I also love how humble she is, establishing a dialog with them and giving them space for their own singing.
This song was an absolute megahit in France and is now a french classic, so the crowd knew the song by heart.
The audience is singing the intended song that Lara about to sing. What’s beautiful about this is the audience yell out “On T’aime” (we love you), meanwhile Lara is singing “Je T’aime” (I love you) which is the title of the song.
What a great reaction to a great song, Lara's song, which everyone in France knows by heart (This song is HUGE in France). You have to listen and understand. Je T'aime means "I Love you", the crowd was singing "On T'aime" = "We love you". Our Queen, was going through a bad time, her adoring fans knew it. The Queen needed a boost and they gave it to her. It is very hard to imagine a crowd singing "We love you" to any artist, but perhaps especially to our Queen, at the top of their lungs, while Lara was attempting and kind of failing to sing " I love you" back to them...and not cry. I cry every single time. I have never seen anything like it. Tearjerker level 11 out of 10.

Je T'aime (I Love You - lyrics Lara Fabian and probably her most famous song). A fan yells "don't sing, Lara!" looking bewildered she hears her fans start singing. Lara starts with "you caught me off guard!" As she starts another fan cries out "don't cry. Lara". Her fans had contacted her pianist and arranged this epic and beautiful tribute to surprise Lara during a personal crisis of losing some close a few days before this concert. So 6000+ (some say up to 8000) joined in singing her song and when Lara sung: Je T'aime (I Love You) her fans responded: On T'aime (We Love you!). You would think that this was Freddie Mercury's last concert performed before a sold out concert!!
“Je t’aime” was written by Lara Fabian and Rick Allison, her music producer and composer. He also had been her boyfriend for a few years, at the start of her career. This song was written when their love evolved to a friendship and speaks about a couple splitting while still having a lot of sentiments one for the other.

The song is Je t’aime - which means “I love you” in French.
The CROWD is singing “on t’aime” - which means “WE love you.”
The back and forth, therefore, is the crowd singing, “We love you” and Lara singing back to them, “I love you.”
It was organised by the fans with her pianist. But she knew nothing about it. It was their gift to her - you’re absolutely right about that.

Others have said she’d gone through a lot, even contemplated suicide, and her divorce papers were signed that day. From my understanding some fans organized with the band leader to do this for her that day to tell her how much she means to them, so they change the lyrics from I love you to We love you. I believe it helped start the turn around for her.

I agree with Joanna - "Perdere l'amore" and "You're not from here". The first is in Italian so make sure you have subs. The subs on Je'T'aime would have burst your heart. "Perdere l'amore" is a massive song in Italy, covered by many, and our Queen just kills it. A song many could not even attempt. "You're not from here" Lara wrote and is a very beautiful song. It showcases Lara yet again doing Lara things. Both songs are masterpieces.

(Actually, Carrie does a solo version that’s also incredible, but watch the Vince Gill duet first.)
I say this as an avowed atheist: that version brings me to tears every time. And I’ve watched it too many times to count. I can’t imagine how powerful and profound it would be to watch it as someone who shares the faith of the people performing it.
