I just did the EXACT same thing..... I had a S5IIx and S1R and sold it for a Z8 and soon Z6III. I don't care about open gate....I needed something more higher MP hybrid, and I was getting frustrated with the AF in the Lumix S1R. There slow development with a replacement S1R was another factor. IMHO I feel they wasted 2024 with too much emphasis on the S9, and by not announcing something flagship was coming, lost them some of their base. The S1 series was getting very long in the tooth. I am excited about the Red acquisition and can't wait to see what comes of that at Nikon. Also I noticed when I sold my Lumix full frame L mount gear, the resale value of Panasonic equipment sucks. I lost alot of money dumping Lumix. For some reason their gear devalues at a faster rate on the used market circuit compared to Canon, Sony, and Nikon.

I totally agree with you, they've spend too much time with the current S line. There is only so much juice you can squeeze out of a system. What they really need is come out with the flagships and innovate in other areas like audio, built in NDs, I love the image but, there just not thinking outside the box, they could be a powerhouse but I just dont get why they continue to rehouse the same camera over and over. I also cant wait to see what Nikon is gonna do once that RED tech starts to come to the Nikon bodies. Im super happy with my purchase. The nikon sensor on the Z6iii is misunderstood, it loves light so you just have to over expose for around +2 stops, but it goes so well with the Z8.

I primarily shoot photos. I have Lumix then I picked up a Z6iii. Messed with it for a week. Could not get used to it. I tried forcing myself to like it. I returned it. Glad I didn't sell off all my Lumix gear. Lumix and Sony are top of the class right now.

I will say that getting use to a new camera takes time, I shot Lumix for 5 years and I still miss the ease of use in some things from Lumix, but im getting use to the nikon system, and tbh the nikon is a better camera but lets see what Lumix does. I'll always have a soft spot it.

The big missing for nikon is mechanical aperture ring. I have z6iii but I miss lenses like sigma art

@@lorenzonarwhal I 💯 agree with you. I think that's something that needs to be implemented in the future lenses. It's much more convenient.

Yes I saw that, I've been following you for a while. you asked me about the nikon z6iii on a comment I left on your video. I haven't answered, cause Im gonna be posting a video to your question, but in a short answer it's a very powerful camera, you just have to take your time to understand how the sensor works. It's just a learning curve.

Hey Mr JP, my name is Johnny and I'm a freelance logo designer, would you love to have me to design a minimalist logo of your vision and some merch print arts for your channel for your fans to buy them to support your hardworks and it will drive loyalty and act as wearables business cards for you too? @@germancreatives88 I feel your pain brother. I had to let go of my kit for $2500. S5iix with 35,50,85 and the 20-60 plus a cage and 3 batteries. For some reason lumix just doesn't have a big resale market. Those are the consequences of a camera company that doesn't have that much share in the camera market.

@@iamzr81 it's not a RED camera. I just used the Red Nikon Luts. But yea I saw it was really under exposed, it was an error on my part, I didn't set the correct profiles in Davinci, but what I wanted to do was just post that initial video cause I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone. You should see improvement on the next video. Thanks for the feedback. 🙌🏼
