I remember walking into the theatre back in 1983 to see some other movie and there was a huge display for this movie in the lobby. I read the title out loud as we walked in, "Yor, the Hunter from the Future!" and looked at my friend. He was silent for a moment then said, completely deadpan, "No I'm not." I never did see it in the theatre but finally I did see it, just last year. I actually found it to be some cheesy, good fun.

I remember that back in this time period, all of us nerds were D&D players, and all of us wanted a proper D&D movie. Conan happened, and suddenly, 99% of the D&D movies ended up being a bunch of idiots running around in furry loin cloths and furry boots, in some sparse, desert, environment. There were almost NO fantasy based movies that didn't follow that formula at this time period. For D&D movies, we either got the old "Sword and Sandal", or "Fur Wearing Caveman/Barbarian in a desert" movies. There was almost no deviation from this as far as the movie industry was concerned. The closest movie that we got that SOMEWHAT matched our D&D games was "Hawk the Slayer".
