on the album the transition between wanderlust and the one makes me want to give both my kidneys to marika
I just don't understand how Marika Hackman isn't huge, I think she is by far one of the best songwriters and performers out there pretty much. Ophelia is the perfect song, this is obviously a million miles away from the we slept at last, album, but this is also amazing. She can make beautiful, brooding albums and amazing pop music. This was so different and came out of the blue when I first heard it, I briefly thought it was a covers album. That's a compliment not an insult, it shows how malleable her creativity is. What a woman. 🙏♥️

It would be really, really, REALLY excellent if this album and the videos with it gets Marika Hackman's music in the ears of millions of people - translating to larger and larger audiences for her live shows. I also hope it gets people to listen to her previous albums. Her acoustic music - as always, lyrics, too - are fucking incredible.

Does anyone else prefer Marika's earlier stuff? 'We slept at last' is one of my favourite albums of all time, so visceral and haunting. I really don't know how to properly describe it tbh. I just think it's truly profound and unique.
I still liking her, but We slept at last is a really touching album. I can't tell you how much mean to me Ophelia, Let me in or Skin. I go to that album to catch some peace, some inner feelings. Is really amazing.

heard "a conventional ride" on KEXP and then checked out the whole album and was blown away. Fantastic song writing. Only issue is I can't listen to it out loud with my pre-teens around. The acoustic versions are really beautiful too.
