  • Just when you think it’s going good, BANG! It’s been a real struggle at The Closet Doctor over last 6 weeks of getting people up to speed and just getting people!
Derrek Holland, lean business guru and long time expert in the closet organization industry shares business tips, lean improvements, 2 second improvements and other small business and manufacturing tips.
2 second lean and daily continuous improvement has transformed my closet and home organization business.
By fixing what bugs us we make work more enjoyable, safer and more efficient. The key to 2 second lean is learning to see and recognize the waste in our lives and the things we struggle with on a daily basis. These, sometimes small and insignificant improvements all add up to save us hundreds of hours a year and makes our work place safer and more enjoyable to work at.

we have an older calif closet system with a built in hutch... we need to remove the hutch so flooring can be replaced under it.. your tutorial for removing the drawers were very helpful.... any help with removing the actual shell so the feet are not on the floor so flooring can be laid correctly

The labor issues suck, I'm sorry you've been struggling. But also this is why I stay a small one man shop. Or maybe have a part time helper. It's such a struggle to find and hold onto good people

I didn’t get in this business to have a job, and that’s all a 1 man operation is and usually the boss is….. it’s hard work finding good people and I’ll find the right ones and be better in the end.

It’s so unfortunate and it hinders our growth as a community many and a nation. All work is dignified and it’s ok for it to be hard

Sad to see it's the same problem everywhere, here in Luxembourg/Belgium we can't find anyone who hasn't idiotic issues, either they work great but have mindset problems, or they are just simply two left handed, all you can do is buying machines and work on your own, but I guess at a certain age it's not possible anymore.
