Our men's team are in the dump now... we're now closer to Brunei (one of the worse teams in the region) than we are to Thailand (the best team in the region)
@@tendeitem As Bruneian that i Agree our Football literally A full 11 of Farmers aka Not Professional football and also if Philippines going that same route and nothing changes they will be in aff playoffs against Brunei😂😭
Dude I feel same way man. I’m a basketball guy but I also like football and believe it should be more popular with basketball. Honestly, Football is a sport every country should try to be great at. I wish the country could really try better in making it more known. Issue is while I don’t mind basketball always being number one and honestly should be, I don’t believe they try hard to make football accessible to the public whether it’s fields, clinics, or just showcasing the PFL on mainstream TV. I feel the easiest way the football team can break through is the country can get lucky and have a homegrown superstar like a Mpappe, Lewandowski, and even a Benzema. Thing is don’t know if it’s possible with how competitive and vast talent is spread across the world but I hope it can happen. And they simply just need to get more exposure and invest in the PFL. Not even huge money but get more local clubs with good names and putting it on free live TV. I feel it’s possible to at least develop a good niche that there is a good amount of people who can develop a good fanbase in the millions in this country.
They Also need to make football more accessible to kids. They should really have more clinics or simply have it as a PE class requirement. Also I don’t mind naturalized or foreign half Filipinos playing but they rely on it too much. They need to start developing talent. I know realistically World Cup is going to be hard for a long time, but to make the Asian cup regularly and even win it could really boost the sport here. I really hope WC can happen sooner or later. I think it’s the best tournament in the world even over the best basketball like the NBA finals and Fiba World Cup. It has the best atmosphere and wish Filipinos know and understand that but they rather focus on individual like sports or want to watch for entertainment purposes. They rather care about beauty pageants than football bro. Yay hot girls but come on bro, that does nothing for me and Filipinos.
@@ryanbeltran9413 Definitely agree with all things you said. Football isn't the most popular in PH, but at least the PFF and other agencies make an effort to promote the sport - through PFL or school P.E. classes, etc. We are in the Women's World Cup, and we play tomorrow v. Switzerland. Though I don't think we'll progress from our group - we want Filipinos to feel "inspired" or be supportive of the team throughout the World Cup. As for the men's team, I just no longer trust Azkals management with getting our NT to the next level anymore, hence why I would like to see a change in the PFF. And for me, I'm fine with naturalized or half Filipinos playing - coz end of the day, they're playing for the Philippines - so I expect the best effort at least - which has been lacking from men's team (grit and effort). There's so much under the carpet with PH football that I hope our women's team continues to grow and maintain being one of the best teams in Asian football. When I'm doing my live watchalongs, I want to only focus on the women's team - and not on the PFF, the men's team or any of those who made the men's team suffer. Basketball and Football can coexist along with Boxing, Beauty Pageants and whatever... it's about progressing all sports and forms of "world exposure" to be at the top level. I know we're going to be hosting the FIBA World Cup next month, idk what the hype around it is atm, but I do hope the PH men's basketball team at least shows up coz I think in the 2019 edition, we finished 32nd out of 32 teams, losing every single game I think. The one thing that I really don't like about PH culture in terms of sports in general, is seeing failure as genuine success?!?! .....like what Filipino fan would be proud if we finished 32nd out of 32 teams in a sport we are suppose to be good at?? This is why when any Azkals fans tell me, "you are a fan, what demands do you have, just be proud of Azkals, etc." and I'm just like - so I have to accept mediocrity and failure and if we lose a major football game, I have to be cheerful and proud that we lost?!?! Almost as if Filipinos are accepting failure and not demanding high standards for our sports teams. But yeah, that's more of my rant - thank god I can just enjoy our women's team at the World Cup tomorrow and the rest of the month, and hopefully they at least show some fight - even if we get last place in the group - just show some fight and passion to prove to us that you want to win!
Brunei 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
