    My contour is complicated, it did not work for me. What is your suggested contour interval for it to work? Also I think AutoCAD layers have to do with it can you share your proper layer for this to work? TIA!

    • @bim360
      @bim360  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In Revit, the contour interval you should use depends on the specific topography or surface you are working with. There is no one-size-fits-all contour interval, as it should be set according to the scale and level of detail you need for your project. Typically, you would want to use a smaller contour interval for more detailed topography and a larger one for less detailed representations.
      Here are some general guidelines for setting contour intervals:
      1. **Project Requirements**: Understand the project's requirements and the level of detail needed. If it's a large site with significant topographical changes, you may need a smaller interval for accurate representation.
      2. **Site Scale**: Consider the scale of your site. Larger sites may require larger contour intervals, while smaller sites or specific areas with complex terrain may require smaller intervals.
      3. **Topography Complexity**: Evaluate the complexity of the topography. Steep slopes, cliffs, or intricate terrain may require a smaller interval to accurately capture the changes in elevation.
      4. **File Size and Performance**: Smaller contour intervals create more contour lines, which can result in larger file sizes and slower performance. Balance the level of detail with the practical limitations of your system.
      Regarding AutoCAD layers, Revit does not use AutoCAD layers in the same way AutoCAD does. In Revit, elements are organized using categories and subcategories, and you can apply materials and line styles to them. However, it's essential to keep your project organized for effective modeling and documentation.
      Here's a basic layer organization you can follow in Revit:
      1. **Levels**: Use levels to represent different elevation points in your project.
      2. **Topography**: This category contains elements related to the topography and site context. You can place your contour lines and other site-related elements in this category.
      3. **Building Elements**: Create separate categories for building elements like walls, floors, roofs, etc.
      4. **Annotation**: Use this category for dimensions, text, and other annotations in your project.
      5. **Views and Sheets**: Organize your views and sheets in a way that makes sense for your project. You can create separate categories for plans, sections, elevations, and sheets.
