George Castle- Shivpuri: Unseen castle in the middle of a Jungle: Spotlight Episode-9

Deep inside the Madhav National Park, at its highest point, stands the exquisite George Castle at a height of 484 m (1597 feet)from the sea level. This castle was built in 1911 by then Scindia ruler of Gwalior for an overnight halt of King George V of England, who was to visit the forest for a tiger shoot.Tourists have a breathtaking view of lakes and a panoramic view of the Kardhai forests from here.

जाॅर्ज पंचम की एक बात बहुत बुरी लगी कि उसके स्वागत के लिए और रातभर ठहरने के लिए इतनी मेहनत और रूपया खर्च करके इतना शानदार महल बनवाया गया जिसमे उस महाशय ने प्रवेश भी नही किया l कम से कम एक बार इस महल मे प्रवेश करके उसे पवित्र कर देता l बेचारा महल, अपने मालिक के बिना अधुरा ही रहा l यहा बिजली वगैरह की व्यवस्था भी नही है शायद l खैर, है बडा शानदार ! किसी फिल्म मे शोभनिय !

मेरा इस महल से सीधा नाता है, ऐसा मैं बोल सकता हूं, जब जॉर्ज बनाम इंडिया आए थे, 1911 में, तभी गेट वे ऑफ इंडिया मुंबई में बना था, उसके बाद 1914 में भारत की राजधानी आगरा से दिल्लीleगया था tha .जहां उसका राज्याभिषेक भी हुआ था, 1914 में ही जॉर्ज वी ने मेरे पर दादा और दादा जी को सभ्यता के महान युद्ध(The great war of civilization) first World war के लिए पदक प्रदान किये थे, जो आज भी मेरे पास सुरक्षित हैं, और एक चॉकलेट का डिब्बा भी दिया था, वो भी मेरे पास सुरक्षित है, और pure महाराष्ट्र में शायद मेरे पास ही vo मेडल हैं।mujhe Khushi hoti agar is castle k saath mere purvajon k wo medal bhi log dekh pate.dhanyawad
