Honestly, I'm not surprised that Spider-Verse won the golden globe award. In fact, I was hoping it would. I've seen the movie and it was awesome! The characters are likeable and memorable, the story was highly entertaining, the soundtrack was straight lit and the animation was beyond revolutionary. This movie did something that not even a sequel to The Incredibles could pull off. It was a movie that broke barriers, exceeded all expectations and went against the norm of what we're used to seeing in modern animation. Sony deserved this win and hopefully they'll make more movies like this in the future so they can finally compete with the big boys and never look back on their dark past; COUGH COUGH, the emoji movie, COUGH!
What happened to Jon breaks my heart. I don’t condone what he did and it was extremely wrong, but he was someone I looked up to for his works and had (still have to some extent) a huge admiration to his insight in storytelling. It’s saddening to see him working at another little known studio when he had such a love and childlike passion working at Disney. All I can hope for is that he becomes a better person and he finds some solace in Skydance as he did in Disney.

I really do think that the idea of cartoons based on the Spider-Verse could be really interesting. The Spider-Man mythos is so vast and yet to be explored, with everything depending on the timeline up to interpretation. Each Spider that didn't get development in the movies could thrive in their own series, especially understanding the unique art style dedicated to each one, Peni having the more over the top Japanime style like the original Teen Titans or 2012 TMNT cartoons, Spider-Ham having a more classic Disney or Looney Tunes designs, and Noir having full monochromatic black and white environments. Possibly more if we end up getting more Spiders in the sequels, which we probably will. Personally, I feel that it isn't impossible for Sony to possibly make a deal with Disney to get these cartoons off the ground. I mean, people were saying it was impossible for him to end up in the MCU while we were getting the Amazing movies, and the dozens of sequels that were still planned for them. And yet, Spidey ended up in Captain America: Civil War, and ended up getting his own movies too. Like you said, however, I merely hope and wish that they don't over commercialize this to the point where people get sick of it.
