Buy what you want... It's YOUR money and you enjoy things how YOU WANT. People that want to send other people's money on what they would get are pathetic and often times can't get the car anyway...

Props to sticking to your guns and getting what you wanted. Personally, I would have still gone for the manual because I really enjoy the engagement of a manual transmission sports car over an auto, but for your wants and needs I can totally get why you decided to go for the auto. I'm sure either one is a great car, and I just hope I actually get to see one in the flesh at some point (still have never seen one in the wild).

I just bought a 2023 Supra A91 manual in CU Later Grey. I paid $63k out the door. I had to find it out of state. All of my local dealers wanted $10k above msrp. Mine is a weekend fun car not a daily driver which is why I chose a manual. As everyone had been saying, get what makes you happy.

Wow I totally agree with everything your saying. I have owned a Supra and owned a few manual V8 performance cars(camaro, corvette, mustang). I would never get the supra in a manual and I also think the shifter looks weird. You are lucky you found a base model 3.0L. That`s also how I would rather own one.

Good pick but if I went for one, it'd be the 2.0. Reviews say the 255 HP is more like 300 and you save about 8 grand over the 3.0 and have nearly 50/50 weight distribution with the lighter 4 cylinder. The adaptive suspension dampers on the 3.0 are nice but the 2.0's non-adaptive shocks have gotten praise from most testers I've read. 0 to 60 time of 4.5 seconds is plenty fast, the 2.0 can just about match a 400 HP Nissan Z manual AND the car has gotten 38 MPG in 75 MPH highway fuel economy tests.

    • @Gonin60

Counterpoint. The 2.0 will always sound like garbage (as someone who has driven one) and the 0-60 is closer to 5.7-6.0 seconds without launch control which is slower than a mustang Ecoboost at 5.5 secs (auto, no launch).
The real world Supra 3.0 0-60 is closer to 4.2-4.7 without a launch.

The manual is a no cost option. The A91 is a special trim level is an upcharge that only comes in a manual but you can get the base non-premium 3.0 manual for the same price as the auto. The only trim you can't get the manual in is the 2.0.

Anybody that says that anyone that gets a sports car in Automatic are "lazy".
Keep in mind that Legend Carol Shelby, put a 3 speed Automatic in a few of his real 1960s Shelby Cobra A/C 427 Super Snake cars(including his personal one). And those are literally museum cars. And expensive as hell.
Along with the Buick Grand National/GNX that came with Automatic only in the 1980s. Which no one gave a crap that it was automatic, that vehicle is legendary.
And the GTR R35 Nissan doesn't have a manual.

Good thing about an auto with paddle shifters is you can live the dream, performance wise but the left foot and right arm miss the experience. I love the in depth, unique reviews that most TH-camrs miss, such as getting a drink carrier through a Camaro window in the drive through. I’ll be honest I built and priced a Supra tonight. Keep up the excellent content, we are watching! Sorry about the 3000Gt but the writing was on the wall and I think you knew that before moving on, I believe you even mentioned that early on. It's your money and your car at the end of the day. Both have their value and interests. While manual is engaging and fun, the auto is more efficient and faster. People who give the time of day to say one is better than the other are usually envious or don't even own one at all. I also agree that the technology package on a lot of vehicles aren't even worth it. Especially on a sports car which should be costly for it's performance, not bells and whistles.

Just enjoy the car but please do not accelerate in rain or bad weather tires are not good above 60 f so be careful. But in a true sports car, it feels like I'm missing something with an auto, I have even driven DCT sports cars and even otehr ZF8 BMWs and it always felt like something was off and i just wouldn't want to dump money into a sports car that feels off to me so I just couldn't invest into an auto. Different mindset I guess.

@@philspaghet Yet Grand National/GNXs wasn't made for the track. And literally with a manual swap you'll make it slower. Hence, the Automatic is why it beatin' cars like the F40 Ferraris and Corvettes on the strip.
      Clearly you're off

Manual transmission was a hot commodity and faster back in the old days. Computerize automatic transmission shifts faster than a human engaged manual shifting. You're going to lose. Heaven forbid u race a DCT., ur phukked. 🏃🏾🏃🏾🏃🏾 You're welcome 😆😆

Not absurd! You young car enthusiasts dont seem to understand! The manual was and has always been the stapel for true driving exsperince! Sure automactics are quicker in a sense, but it will never be the same as a manual. Not hating just stating facts. Sounds to me you guys have gotten soft and lazy when it comes to the true driving exsperince! SMH.

You have no idea what what you’re talking about. I haven’t had my Challenger in over two years. If you prefer people or special TH-camrs that stick to one brand I can recommended a lot and their videos get so stale and boring and they rehash all the same content
