These aircrafts were originally supposed to be phased out already but due to increasing demands and plane shortage, THAI decided to bring them back for a short while before A350 and B787 will soon replace them :)
@@thatonerandomkid-r2nthat’s a long way because the 777-300er is still new the oldest is a 2012 one while the newest is a 2015 one. For the 777-200er their life will be over very soon.
Thank you for another interesting and informative video. I was amazed at the amount of check-in luggage being presented at the check-in area and the size of a few of the suitcases must surely have exceeded the maximum permitted dimensions. I agree with you about the footrests...uncomfortable and a waste of space.
Thank you very much Norman! Great observation. I was very surprised when I saw the amount of the check-in luggage as well. It was in general and not in particular to any airline. Stay tuned for the next trip report!
The 777-200er was been planed to retrofit in 2018 but unfortunately that never happened. The reason why they aren’t retrofit because they are using it for shot haul flights but if flying long haul they are likely to be retrofitted. The 777-200er was previously used for long haul flights but no matter what these seats are in terrible state and badly needs to be retrofitted. Also the 777-200er once retrofitted supposed to have premium economy together. Singapore Airlines spent a lot to do retrofitting on older planes. Since in the past there was been so much corruption that happened with Thai Airways so that’s why don’t have enough budget to retrofit. At the same time the 787-8 was retrofitted but since the plane and the seats is still newer there was no point to retrofit it.
Very smooth landing
Yep! Great landing!

“The best shopping in an airport you’ve ever seen”. Obviously not been to Singapore Changi
…Hopefully soon. Stay tuned!
So far, so good....
However, you should not focus on crew or other passengers when filming.
Thats disrespectful if I may say this!
Thai Airways plan to phase out all 6 B777-200ER within 3 years and replace with the new generation of the aircrafts so no need to retrofit the B777s.
That’s great to hear. Thank you Kitipat!
