I idolized these guys back in high school, (class of '72), when I played trumpet. Trumpet player Lew Soloff, (RIP) was my hero. The best, ever. Man, he could hit those high notes, and the solos he did were off the scales! David Clayton Thomas has such an amazing voice, and the whole band was so tight! I saw them twice, and Lew's solos stood out the most. Try 'Go Down Gamblin', 'God Bless the Child', and for a mellow one- ''Sometimes in Winter'.
You really need to hear " God Bless the Child". It's amazing. It's a great fusion of rock, jazz, r&b and more! You will not be sorry.
