As a German I learned that both languages are worlds apart, having different structures. No German will ever speak and write English correctly and vice versa, specifically when singing the „Lieder“ (except Thomas Hampson). Fortunately I had the uncle of my father John Slingsby Robert Esq. in Brighton Hove. He pointed out that correct pronunciation of the English language is more important than the correct pronunciation of the German language. So, I like to improve my pronunciation of the English language.
In Germany only teachers and professors in the northern area pronounce German correctly. The rest is happy to talk in their local dialect. For us Germans we see that the English language has got a funny way to express words and to write them. Well, I leave this aspect aside. What I observe is the slow and steady use of English by the Germans which gets fully integrated into German in about 100 years. Last not least Germans create for their daily use new English expressions as : „ handy“ meaning a smart phone.

    Dear Teacher!
We have been thought since school, that two past verbs can't set in one sigle sentence.
but how they justify these sentences:
    *Did he look annoyed
    *He avoided pointed questions.
    * He has a troubled married life...
Such sentences trouble me a lot and wish to request you for uploading a video resolving such anomalies 😢
    Much respect
