Awesome looking pen with very unique design. It’s definitely on my radar. Thanks Mike.

I also wondered what the purpose of that beveling in the back was apart from an aesthetic choice. That feature of the barrel not coming in contact with the desk when it's set down is actually pretty nifty, so thanks a lot for showing that!
I have to admit my immediate reaction when I first saw this pen on their website was "That looks kind of silly" but the design has grown on me. I still think I prefer some of their other models more, though. I definitely agree that Franklin-Christoph makes some great products. I have a Model 66 that I like, and then I recently got a Model 19 in Smoke and Cinnamaroon that I absolutely love. Had been wanting that pen for several years, and it didn't disappoint. I love their inks and notebooks too. Really everything they make is top notch!

Cool to hear what Scott Franklin was considering when designing the pen. This one is tempting.

I just got this one. I chose the Polar Blue Ice with a Maya Blue section. It is shockingly beautiful. It is brilliantly functional. It is achingly a joy to use. My favorite F-C model…arguably my favorite among my 100 count collection.

Nice! I also have a polar blue one now, and it's great.

@@inkdependence Do you know which of the other “ice” acrylics they use that have that light gathering/edge shining thing like the Polar Blue does? I thought there was at least one other.

What a great looking pen and the nib wrote like a dream. I’d def get one of these if it writes like that 👌🏻👌🏻

I'm looking to get either this or the model 66 the next time they have demonstrator versions for sale

I like how you used “insider knowledge” to speak directly to the design elements that people are talking about regarding this pen. Franklin-Christoph designs might not be for everyone, I have four and love them all, but for all the criticism one cannot say that the design decisions are haphazard or ever done “just because.” This video got us the information we need about the pen with a real sense of context.

Thanks! I don't know if I have insider knowledge, but I did send Scott an email asking about a couple of features. And I'm glad I did!

Want one as soon as I can get one.

That is definitely a big pen. But I want to know more about that orange Model 20, haha. (That's my favorite model - I have 4 of them, two regular size and two pocket size.) Yours looks like it's made with a straight up orange acrylic, i.e. not the "orange crush" material. (It looks like they currently have a Model 02 and a Model 20 in that material right now - soooo tempting.)

You called it. That's a full size 20 in straight up orange. I've had that one for a long while, and it was probably one of the "color prototypes" they have at shows.

@@inkdependence It has the short clip, too, right? My Vintage Green one does as well - it also doesn't have the double groove design on the grip section like the newer ones do. That makes the slip cap work a little better, I think. But I love the Vintage Green material - so pretty.

    Hello hello hello... super FUN🌈🌈🌈✌🏽🌈🌈🌈
I currently only own a FC 20 in transparent blue w salmon accents and I LOVE how it feels and how it writes. The vacuum cap mechanism is a fav feature of mine. Looks as though it’s hard to go wrong with any of the models though. Great review. Thank you.

Thanks! I have most of the FC models at this point, and they're definitely well-designed tools.

Interesting - also that it is already sold out!

There will be more soon, I’d wager.
