  • The time that ends up on your smartphone-and that synchronizes GPS, military operations, financial transactions, and internet communications-originates in a set of atomic clocks on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Observatory. Dr. Demetrios Matsakis, Chief Scientist for USNO's Time Services, gives a tour.

That jumble of books is exactly what I’d expect our naval observatory to look like.

"...the combined set of four of them will not lose or gain one second in 300,000,000 years."
"Well, if your in the clock business, you know that no clock runs perfectly and some have catastrophic failures. In fact, every clock is liable to catastrophic failure."
Four clocks running in almost perfect unison, whether or not you have a failure, makes sure you're covered for redundancy.

Does anyone else ever just think of time(the clock) as being Human Life's Warden/Dominator/Ruler/God! And how it is that this thing, we call time, instructs and dominates how it is we are to live throughout our existence?

You gonna have to re fix it because the Americas must be in the East as the beginning of the time.
