    In turkish we have also "ü" which is something not every language includes but that makes me happy 'cause my name also includes ü but many people (foreign friends) cannot pronounce it as they are distant to this letter. In chinese it's used as well and i think that's beautiful. There are also similar things between Turkish and Chinese like some words pronounced same mean also same such as baba(father) and cha (çay) which make me happy and feel more motivated. Thanks for your help and effort, i really appreciate it and just wanted to share these. Have a nice day! ^^

    I feel like 2nd tone is really easy and automatic for Australians because we tend to put a rising inflection on many of our words, which can confuse non-Australians because it makes everything we say sound like a question 🤣 Excellent video by the way - I'm finally trying to learn the basics of Mandarin because all I know is a bunch of random words from watching too many Chinese dramas.

    The vowels were more easy than I thought they would be as they are identical to the Spanish pronunciation, except for the e. We say it as 'eh' so it's not too hard to remember to change the first sound of it to a softer u.

    Nî hâo, Zâo shàng hâo. Just out of curiosity. Do native chinese learn pinyin first just like us or they naturally learn chinese characters first? Xíexie. :)

    • @AskAndy
      @AskAndy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Actually native Chinese children learn neither of them at the beginning. They just start with listening to people around them and the imitate the pronunciation. My son(5 years old) has never learnt Pinyin but he speaks almost perfect Mandarin. And we taught him to recognize some characters (matching some vocabularies with the characters) since he was 3 years old. Native Chinese spend at least 6 years (in elementary school) to learn Chinese characters but not full-time studying because we have different subjects. lt's also difficult for us to learn characters.

      One of the reasons why I would like to learn chinese is because I like the appearance of chinese characters. I am having fun trying to write some. But i forget the complicated ones. I think I need to learn to master the pinyin first and the speaking too. I think it can help me to remember the chinese words and vocabulary. :)

      @@kennieva5269 Yes, it is. Native Chinese read characters much faster than Pinyin. :)
