    well you do actually know that the boxes of pointe shoes actually are a type of paper machette only they usually have burlap and sometimes leather in with the past and paper as well, so its not far off in your attempt though problably not the most durable way to do it

      @@jeanettekakareka well I did not watch quite the whole video but you have the right idea, it even held you up and formed to your arch like a broken in pointe shoe and it did not squash the end at least not right away, keep it up we could always use another pointe maker in the west soo much has been lost and those that know how to are getting older with fewer young comeing in to take their place, lest we have no one left in the west to do this and everything has to come from east asia, as once something is gone its usually gone forever

    This may not have worked out as great as you wanted it and it's probably not dance-able, but if I made this I would paint it that kind of pink with a brown undertone and use it as a prop because the shape looks great and I think you did amazing!

    The only reason anyone would consider an all-purpose glue to be sprayed on it would be due to having too much clue around the outer (Which is most common the case; since one needs to wet/glue the exterior for a flattened finish), and has desire to paint it but no patience left to prime it decently.
    All in all, you have done a wonderful job in your attempt (albeit one would advise you wrap some sort of fibre around the box to better support your weight) at your pointe and an outstanding job pointing in them. Ironically, you are actually not too far off the actual making of boxes... Papier-mâché IS used even today in high quality shoes, even though cheeper "mass-produced" alternatives have been introduced via moulding...
    Usually the paper is assisted with linen and leather and a different type of glue... I have been told that earlier; there would be also sawdust or even chalk (Even blood) introduced to hide glue for the tip of the box. But I lack any source confirming it.
    All that said:
    Your dexterity is rather over whelming and has gotten me curious on how you manage on actual pointe whilst en tendu. And I can not pass by without complimenting your back and posture even whilst crouched down DIY'ing on the floor.
    This is "unjustly" what I tend to demand of my students as well...
    In too many ways; you are what a ballerina is expected to be moulded out to be, with the un-fortune that neither your genetics nor your hard work and discipline is common enough to see samples of as often as one would so hope for.
    Hence, my phrasing my expectations "unjustly".
    This was a very beautiful 0 minutes you have allowed me to live through whilst relaxing prior to getting to work.
    Thank you so much dearest, for your efforts to help make this happen.
    I shall subscribe as my best way I know of how ... to hopefully better present my gratitude.

      As long as you're doing it for fun and NOT for actually wearing... 👀the "shank" (bottom of the shoe) is essentially the perfect length of your foot minus a bit of space at the heel. You might be able to see from googling "pointe shoe shank shape" the rounded hourglass look and go from there. 🙂

    (Not once have i got caught, hurt or punished!)

      @jeanettekakareka  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@urmomisgay916 hi sorry I didn't reply because I hadn't even heard of this "cups" thing and didn't know what you were referring to. Definitely DO NOT dance in anything but professionally-made pointe shoes. Paper cups or any other cup will in no way support your delicate foot bones and tendons when they attempt to hold your entire body weight. I know it's a trend going around at the moment, but it is in no way safe. It's true that pointe shoes must also be trained in safely, but they're made the way they are for a reason. Even if you don't see the negative side effects today, tomorrow, or next week, you can do serious damage to your body. As a professional ballet dancer I do have knowledge in this. Please be safe!
