IBD is there any other pattern than cup and handle? It seems to be all you ever talk about.

A mis-leading headline because of the poor quality of the charts (unable to zoom) and the production, one could not see clearly a visual example.
Also, having watched IBD live yesterday, it seemed to me live charts were not used in the production. Mark Minervini was looking at live charts on his computer and was telling the production what changes were coming. If this is correct - that would be a farce?

Isn't that just 'buy the dip?

'Buying the dip' is just a purchase when the stock price drops and requires no other criteria. This technique requires specific price and volume charateristics to become a buy. Most of the time a stock will not qualify as a 'cheat' entry. It reduces the possibility of 'buying a dip' that becomes more than just a pullback and keeps moving lower.

@@mrpineapplecat One thing I've never really understood about the canslim method is the requirement that you must buy at the breakout. I've always had a lot more success buying stocks with the canslim characteristics, but buying them either near a floor, or just after bouncing off a trend line (50-day) etc.

@@djt20 That can be true, I think it can depend on the market also, sometimes the pullback never comes! Personally I prefer to buy breakouts but when reviewing charts, even stocks I have bought I can identify lots of pullback opportunities. I think both can be very profitable, all other things considered.
