I like this ending. Actually makes it clear that it is not Rooks achievement that Solas redeems himself, but the culmination of lavellans influence and friendship plus the grief over mythals 'murder' and his servitude to her. I played an elven inquisitor who befriended Solas, so I really enjoyed seeing the story culminate like this, and was a nice callback to the trespasser Ending. It was really tempting to trick Solas and seal him against his will, seeing as he's been kind of a bastard to Rook.
The most low stakes dialogue I have ever heard lmao. Literally no one is allowed to make a tough decision because the game will simply "save" you if you choose the "wrong" choice. Choose a bad dialogue option that obviously won't appeal to Solas? A random NPC arrives to fix the situation. Solas' entire reason for doing anything is that an old friend died? She's been alive this entire time, she's also Morrigan for nostalgia bait, and she's been able to contact him this entire time but chose not to for reasons. What a miserable departure from DAO and DA2
Yes morrigan chose not to talk to Solas for "reasons." Those reasons are 1. She literally has Mythal/Flemyth's memory of him killing her. And 2. Last time Solas talked to Morrigan she was humansplaining elven culture to him, and knew there was a chance he wouldn't take it well if she revealed she was the latest host of his long lost ancient love.
