If you have interst in philosophy, then take philosophy as optional.
Essay, Gs IV (ethics) completely overlapp with philosophy.. also studing philosophy will enhance your writting & communication skills which will also help in mains answer writting and interview (personality test).. even in philosophy there is political philosophy (polity), social philosophy (sociology), ethics, logic, etc.. also it has shorter syllabus compared to others but one need to be expert at critical thinking, analysis and writting.. this subject is not for all.. but if you're passionate about philosophy, then it's the best optional..

According to me my personal opinion that i have studied political science in my graduation and from back two- three years i keep following many TH-cam channels like Prashant Dhawan sir, study iq , study glows and Ankit Awasthi sir with help of these channels i got keen interest and firmly say that international relations i love it ! I will go with IR !

Dear Sister I don't want argue to you but for your knowledge me apko ek example deta hu yeh upsc hai 50% log to sirf syllabus ko jaankar hi move out ho jate hai preparation se isme marks hi matter krta hai wo to aap par hai aap us subject ko kitna acha prepare kar paate ho kitne , agar aap me guts hai to aap doosre subject se bhi marks gain kr skte ho but utne nhi jitne aap in subject ko lekar kr skti yeh beneficial marks dilaane wale subject hai ,aap aise person ki baat joothla nhi skati another example is agar hame kisi chiz ki jroorat hoti hai chahe hme usme intrest ho ya na ho tab bhi usme engaged ho jate hai or yahi funda upsc me bhi apply ho jata hai sirf hmare benfit ke liye sir itna kuch btate hai so that hme hme sahi direction mile, at last me maafi chahuga dear agar aap ab bhi agree nhi krti then you need to make an amendment if you are upsc aspirant

Humanities ke subjects Lena chahiye tha agar upsc ka base banana tha. Waise koi baat ni log IIT IIM ke bad, naukri chod kar bhi aate hai, un logon ka bhi base nhi rehta hai, Abhi tension mat le HS thhik se de.

I think lots of syllabus to cover in short time. Also lot of complex diagrams are there. Otherwise this would be my choice. Easy but lots of things to remember. Anatomy of organisms not easy to remember.
